There's only 88 days to go before the U17 WC begins in beautiful Chile, taking place from Oct 17- Nov 8. Here is the full list of all participating nations, this should be an exciting tournament for sure. All the top teams from around the world are well represented. Final draw is being held on Aug 8, with the deadline for setting the 21-squad roster still to be announced. http://www.fifa.com/u17worldcup/teams/index.html
I think the most pressing question on all of our minds is how many Werder players we should call up for this tournament. I'm not biased at all but personally I think the entire starting XI should be from the Grün-Weißen based on how we've been owning everyone this summer. The great winning chemistry will also be kept which is another added bonus. With J.Eggestein, N.Schmidt, Krol, Filipovic, Luca Horn, Vollert, and Marcel Walter, etc this is already quite an elite team.
Germany qualified and competed in the U17/U19/U21 Euros and U20 WC in 2015 so far. The U17 WC later on during autumn will be the final major international youth tournament this year.
Guess it wouldn't be fair to other clubs if Werder players had all the nominations every time so here's an alternate roster that I would also like to see put together. Starting XI ------------------J.Eggestein------------------ Krol--------------N.Schmidt----------Passlack -------------Gül-------------Dorsch----------- L.Horn----Abu Hanna----Karakas---Gonzalez Vass ------------------Frommann------------------- Rotation options: GK-Schubert DF-Busam, Nesseler, Handwerker MF-Burnic, Janelt, Saglam FW-Serra, Skenderovic, Ramaj
Even though we haven't brought any silverware yet to the table, I'm very impressed with how our youth are qualifying to so many competitions simaltaneously.
The difficulty level in this draw definitely skewed towards Groups A, B, and C. But not to fear, the Werder boys will be ready.
Getting closer to the big tournament, start date is one month from today. Here's Belgium final selection: http://belgianfootball.be/fr/nouvelles/sélection-coupe-du-monde-17

Skenderovics nomination is ok, but there could have been some more changes. And almost no preparation for this World cup, no test matches. This isn't professional.
I would have gone with Luca Horn instead of Enes Akyol for that left-back position. As seen during the U17 Euros, Akyol is not a big tournament player and had to be benched during the later stages due to his sub par display. Horn is a solid playing moving forward and also forms great chemistry with Eggestein and Schmidt. The selection of Özcan is a bit redundant, when there's Saglam and Schmidt for the ten spot. An additional winger like Ramaj, Probst, or Krol would have been a better choice.
I am also disappointed that it's the same squad as in the Euros. No wingers defensively ? What do you mean by that ? Regarding the wingers, Köhlert and Passlack are very talented as we saw during the U17 Euro. Köhlert was a bit lightweight but looked very talented when he had the ball at his feet. Hopefully now 5 months later, he's physically stronger. He's been playing well in the A-Jgd BL(which is a more physical league than the B-Jgd BL obviously). I agree with you that if Köhlert or Passlack get injured, we could be in trouble. But I think that if one of them does get injured during the tournament, Wück could switch to a 4-4-2 diamond because he has the ideal players for that formation. As for the players who were left out, Krol and Spanoudakis have been doing great things at club level - how are they not even on the standby list ? Well, they will start training together 9 days before the first match. They can finish 3rd in the group and still secure a spot in the knock out stages. I think the 3 group matches will prepare them well for the knockout matches.
I quite liked Özcan at the U17 Euro. I have the feeling that he will turn out to have a better career than Saglam and Schmidt. He can be deployed as a deep lying playmaker. He is not a pure No.10. IMO, Geiger should have been left out of the squad and a winger (Krol/Probst/Ramaj ) should have been called up instead.
Have been confirmed with Janni himself It's because of academic reason. And he described it as a "tough decision" but he still see school is just as important
Haven't heard about Dominik Franke before, but Jayson Breitenbach is someone mentioned to be well rated as a right full-back talent. He's also spent time training with Mainz's pro team. Since there's no natural RB on this team roster, Breitenbach could have been a useful addition for the tournament.
HSV are showing interest in signing Leandrinho. One of the top Brazilian talents of this age group and will also feature in the U17 WC. http://www.fussballtransfers.com/bu...lt-um-brasilianisches-spielmacher-juwel_58187
This blog has scouting reports covering top talents of some participating U17 NTs: http://premscout.com/
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...6753/artikel_azzaoui_tipps-von-de-bruyne.html Article on Belgian and Wolfsburg talent, Ismail Azzaoui. Hecking thinks highly of him, "he seems very mature, and does not play like a 17 year-old. He makes a fresh and cheeky impression". Azzaoui is described as technically brilliant with his dribbling and also has good finishing. A versatile attacker, though his preferred position is LW. His role model is De Bruyne, who has given him tips on reaching the Bundesliga.
He was very good at the U17 Euro for Belgium but was very poor against Man Utd U19s last week(this may have been due to his unfamiliarity with his teammates). Let's see how he plays at the U17 World Cup. He's clearly very talented and might become a Bundesliga star in the coming years.
The German team is flying to Chile today. Here is an interview with Mats Köhlert: http://www.hsv.de/nachwuchs/meldung...koehlert-wir-haben-alle-ein-gemeinsames-ziel/ Says it was hard to stay focused in school the last few days. He is very excited to play in the World Cup. His father will travel (with a friend) to Chile to watch him play. His father supports him a lot and goes to his every match. His mother and sister will stay in Hamburg. There is a great camaraderie in the team which was key to reaching the final of the U17 Euro. Speaks about other things too.
http://mobil.mopo.de/hsv/hsv-nachwu...ubi-mats-koehlert--17-,23481658,32108712.html HSV are also currently in discussions with Köhlert's family and advisor on signing his first pro contract.
Anderlecht's talent factory continues to produce quality footballers one after the other. http://premscout.com/2015/10/11/u-17-world-cup-preview-group-d-belgium-faes-azzaoui-and-ademoglu/ Wout Faes is the captain and undisputed leader of this Belgian U-17 team. He has long been touted as a major talent and currently is not far from the Anderlecht first team. Faes posses excellent marking and tackling abilities and is imperious in the air. He is great on the ball and likes to take it out of defense and can both receive a make passes with ease. Faes is aggressive and strong and displays a very apparent will to win. He has good pace and his anticipation is excellent. Nothing seems to phase him. Overall this is a complete defender and one of the best on show in Chile. Alper Ademoglu is the star player for Belgium U-17 and the junior team at Anderlecht. He is considered the biggest talent at the club and for good reason – Ademoglu is a playmaker beyond compare this level. Ademoglu is astoundingly technically gifted. His passing and vision are superb. His ability and unpredictability in tight spaces is he best I have seen at this level also. He does not have a ton of pace, but he is a superb dribbler over 5-10 yards. He is much more a creator than a finisher – and indeed his finishing is something that he needs to work on. Tactically he requires a free role and does not contribute to the defensive phases of play. His first touch and one touch play is incredible and his creatvity and passing ability are consistently superb. Reminds of Andres Iniesta and has the talent to go to the very top of the game.
