anyway, remember how awesome it was that RSW's contract had the option period and somehow reducing risk to Leverkusen would somehow magically avoid the situation of being trapped in Europe off the matchday squad?

Bayer wins 3-0 against Werder Bremen. No Ryu.

    Great goal from Kampl though:

Has there been any news of him recently? I find it odd that he is not even playing for Bayer II.

I heard somewhere that there is no Bayer II. They only have the first team.

Are loans possible outside the normal transfer window in Germany?

Not that I'm aware of. So winter transfer window at the earliest.
Edit: Of course they could just cancel his contract, then he'd be free to join any other club anytime.

Ryu is with Bayer Leverkusen in Barcelona for the upcoming Champions League match tonight. Good to know that he's not being left behind, and who knows maybe even bench.

Given that Bayer only has Augsburg coming up this weekend, I'd expect them to put out a strong squad, but the coach might have other ideas. At least he's better off than Yurchenko. He's not even with the squad.

if SHM didn't leave to join Spurs, I think RSW would have had more chance or at least make the bench consistently. Kampl & Chicharito joining the squad hurt RSW's chance (granted, he didn't do well in pre-season based on reports)

I still think RSW is the poorest fit for Schmidt's system so far and given Schmidt's treatment of Brandt, seems like RSW will never be a fit given Brandt is further along and offers similar skillset.

Positional wise, I think his competition is Calhanoglu. Was hoping RSW becomes his understudy but with the emergence of Henrichs & purchase of Chicharito, that looks unlikely now. I hope RSW goes out on loan in winter similar to Oztunali at Werder Bremen (2 yr loans).

    Anyway, no RSW

Yeah but I think thats more or less reflective of Schmidt not knowing what to do with players like him.

so can't even make cup squad. I guess the biggest question will be loan or permanent in january. I guess it depends on interest.

He did well in Braunschweig so I don't really get any of this.
Why couldn't he stay or find another B2 team!?

his injuries were pretty badly timed so his contributions back last fall may be long forgotten. and it may be that leverkusen thought that he could contribute more but it just didn't work out.

I doubt he'll give up now. We'll just see how far down he has to go to get a chance but I suspect BL2 either on loan or permanent seem like a reasonable goal
