Hi mate! Your a champion. If you could send me images of the Kamo Japanese soccer store, where you can get the most amount of wall in, that would be awesome! If you can send some pics of the walls of some USA stores, that would also be just perfect. Cheers buddy :)

I know there's not really a thread for this but I was just wondering if any of you know what these shin guard/sleeve hybrid things are? Zelalem and all of the other Rangers players have been training in them

I'm looking for a pair of AG boots..... But having never had a specific pair for turf, I was wondering which path to follow?

Nike seem to be the best but adidas and Puma have variants out... There's some Evopower 1 AGs available for £40 currently for example.

Has anyone had any experience of AG soleplates? Which brand should I go towards?

Asked jaymike about the Puma Evopower HG ones and he didn't recommend them as they removed the G.S.F which was a fairly large 'plus' of the original boot. Its just extra studs, not sure if they're any shorter than then FG studs as well.

Depends on why you're getting them for turf and the quality of your turf really. If you're on sandy turf, then just get the turf boots, don't bother with AG.

overall, I'd definitely recommend the Nike AG studs, the hollowed out studs really give for great grip and traction (like you'd feel when you're wearing a bladed boot) but the risk of your studs getting caught are very very low (because of how short they are and that they're hollow)

I had a pair of the LZ1s with the adidas AG soleplate. I actually really liked that soleplate when playing on good quality 3G/4G pitches. (obviously its been discontinued now but worth considering if you see an old model on sale for cheap)

Occasionally I played on old worn out shallow bad quality 3G pitches and it wasn't really worth it on that though... Personally I'd rather just use TF in that scenario.

I tend to play on either very high quality 4G or a middling 3G. I have some of the Mercurial Proximos but I just can't get along without a bit of extra grip so I'm always wearing my Obras.

Do you know anywhere that sells a variety of Nike plates...? I can't seem to find anywhere that does.

Yeah... I like adidas boots. Probably my favourite brand so that'd be ideal. Do they still sell the AG plate as I can't seem to find any...?

It won't be lots and lots of use I'd just like a pair to use on 3G for when I play a few times a week and they would hopefully last me a few years.

Sorry I didn't really make myself clear, no the AG soleplate has been discontinued. The new adidas soleplate is supposed to be dual purpose - ie suitable for FG and AG. I've not used it though so can't comment.

Found this photo about feet types and it makes a lot of sense to me why some cleats fits me better than others...(-:
I'm more of a Roman type. I wonder if this is ever taken into consideration when companies design boots. Sorry if this is not the appropriate place for this post but did not want to start another thread and get yelled at...(-:

No problem. Yeah I know about the new ones but I'm not a huge fan of either for specifically AG ground.

I'll have a look and see if I can find some old school adidas ones.

Yeah I've seen that before. I believe the most common one is Greek (which I am thankfully!) and companies tend to follow that guideline, apart from Puma... Think that's right.

Their last is based on Egyptian/Germanic...

Yeah it's a weird one because like I said I think (THINK ;)) Greek is the most common. And you can tell it's the case that companies follow that idea because of the rounded toe.

I've always wondered why Puma insist on sticking with it though... I've been considering some of the new Evospeeds for the new season but just can't really get along with the toe.

I'm Roman and have a slightly wide forefoot and the toe box of almost all boots is the wrong shape for me.

What size are you and where do you live? I have a pair of AG Lz's in US9 that are in good condition and I am willing to let them go cheap.

I have just received these, and they are quality. the fit is amazing. its only calf leather but its incredibly soft, and the studs provide excellent traction. they remind me of Nomis boots, if anyone recalls. does anyone else have experience with this brand? this is pele sports 1962 btw.

Used to love Pele Sports! BTW, Pele Sports bought out Nomis when they were about to go bankrupt. Had the 62, 70 and Trinity models. As well as some of their Radium futsal range. All were quality boots, shame they are defunct now.

The leather on the 70 was amazing, loved the grip coating as well

I've still got a pair of Nomis boots - they were sampling a female online line & sent me a pair. Only they came with none of the plastic logos that made the touch awful. The ones I have are just a beautiful calf leather and they were great boots - while they lasted. You were meant to be able to wear them on concrete and sand based astro and the studs wouldn't wear down, but mine did and the leather didn't hold up too well either. I still have them as I said they did some nice personalisation for me so kudos for that.

A friend sent me this link to a YouTube video. Very interesting take from Joey Barton on boots

I never seen this before and thought to share because you get a very honest and professional take on soccer boots (video from 2014)

    Enjoy
