I know our players usually aren't liked to begin with, but I don't think I've seen a set of fans that dislikes one of our players more than Club America fans dislike Alvarado.

Ah, it was someone else who whomped Ventura on the Perez goal. Not much of a difference.

Don't see how you keep Jones out of the lineup.... yes, you start him again 4 days later. Remember that he wouldn't play again for the Revs until the 13th...so why not 4 days later?

Anyone hear an attendance estimate? I bought tickets in section 310 and got relocated to section 131 (MUCH better seats). Hope that doesn't mean we have an empty stadium.

He doesn't have full fitness. Frankly, Altidore given he went 90 against Peru and given his hamstrings history, should have been released.

What I would like to see has changed since Besler was sent packing, wanted him and GCam as CBs but here we go:

    ---------------------------------Howard---------------------------

    Yedlin--------------GCam-------------Brooks--------------Ream

    ------------------------------Williams-------------------------
    ------------------Bradley-----------------Jones (sub Mixx at half)------

    -----Morris--------------------------------------Zardes

    --------------------------Dempsey------------------

    This.

I am hoping we see this right here. I too want to see Mix on for Jones and Morales on for Williams. Spector on for Yedlin or Ream. He's played LB, right?

Also, Dunga is going to have Neymar on the bench in favor of trying more experimental players. He won't take us serious, so I think we too shoudl see some 'experiments' out there like abovei, Morris starting. I dig it.

Whoops! That's right. I would put Aron there and Jozy last 30 to see if he goes out there, balls to the walll.

Yup, thought he was called in for the Brazil game. You are correct sir...way to ruin my Tuesday!!

So I would say have Jozy in his place. Is Jozy faster than AJ? Our best bet is on counter so whoever is the least slowest gets the go.

Aron is a bad choice as a strike partner when you project to play a heavily counter-attacking style. He's downright stupid as a lone center forward.

So you're saying there are other center forwards that are just a little bit better?

He's more than just a little behind at that particular position.

Jozy up top to attract the double team, try to hold up and allow the wings/Bradley to overlap. We were looking to play into space behind the wings v. Peru, don't know why we should expect this to go any different.

Would like to see Morris play off him as well. (or play a 5 man midfield, but I don't think we will and without Demps we'd have to go with Mix and I'm not sure that is as fluid.)

AJ did a good job in a counter-attacking game against Ghana.

AJ and Altidore could get the start with Morris replacing Altidore in the 45th min.

Another option would be to start in a 4231.

    ---------------Altidore---
    ----Zardes---Bradley---yedlin--
    ----------jones----Williams--

ESPN needs to get their act together. Keller sits on the bench Friday as a coach. On Tuesday he's analyzing the game for ESPN. I don't see how he can properly conduct his job as a analyst when he's one of Klinsmann's right hand men on the bench. He should not be holding both of those jobs.

What I'd like to see, given the roster:

    -----------------------Altidore---------------------
    Zardes--------------------------------------Yedlin
    ---------------Jones---------Bradley--------------
    ----------------------Williams---------------------
    Ream------Brooks------Alvarado----Cameron
    ------------------------Guzan----------------------

4-5-1 or 4-3-3. I want to see Jones and Bradley as dual #8s with Williams as the #6. I want to see Ream and Cameron defend the wings and Zardes and Yedlin free to attack the wings.

I doubt Brooks starts. Ream or Gonzalez to pair with Ventura. Garza at LB.

First reaction on re-watching these highlights is that in my mind I recalled that we had lost 4-2 (which means I may be mixing this game up with another, I feel like at some point we lost to Brazil by that scoreline, maybe around '08?). But second, I think that reaction was due to the fact that 4-1 was a really unfair scoreline to us given how we played, especially in the second half. There were what, four chances we should have buried and/or where we hit the bar or post? By contrast, Brazil nailed all their relatively fewer chances (in the second half, at least)--which may be why they are Brazil and we are not.

In the 4-1 loss, we generated run-of-play stats that against an elite team, were some of our best ever.

Zardes lacks the pace to play as an orthodox wing-forward. He could play in the slot in a 433/4321, however.
