Previous thread : http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads...questions-pictures-boots-here.2015459/page-44 For those of you who don't want to click through the link we were talking about getting the moisture out of leather boots! Lets continue ....... appleCORR
from the previous thread: are you sure? don't they put RICE in salt shakers to draw the moisture out of the salt?
Me too - but the amount of colours Adidas are producing for this boot is absolutely crazy! But that one is definitely a winner. appleCORR
I hear adidas are releasing leather Messi 15.1s... Does anyone know why there aren't any SG versions of them?
Yeah I've heard about it from a few people that were 'in the know', seems a little hashed because sales for them have been dreadful considering they've got Messis name plastered all over them I wouldn't have believed it but I've seen a mock up of them and they actually look good. Gutted about SG though.... I'd consider them too if they were available in SG. Can't decide which new boots to get for the season.
I feel like i would in the know since I do all of the footwear orders for the store/company I work at....... There is a "leather-like" Messi coming in November/December that feels pretty awesome but that's the only thing I can think of.................
That might be it....? It wasn't specified to me whether it was 'leather-like', just described as 'leather'. They do look really good though........... I'd have thought too having seen the name of them I'd remember if it was 15 or 16 too, but I can't for the life of me. Anyway, considering you work in that area, is there definitely not SG ones coming out..?
I think they assume no one would buy the Messi's in SG that much so why bother putting in extra costs to cover production?
What is the cost of production though? I would venture that a healthy percentage of the cost is the marketing which drives the sales, that isn't say there isn't cost but my guess is sales of SG boots are just not very high and combined with the frequent minor changes (color for example) it just doesn't make sense to chase 20% of your potential market that will likely opt to buy something else you make or buy the same boot with a fixed stud. I'd love hear some statistics for the break down of FG versus SG in various markets, I'm guessing FG kills SG in most markets except for perhaps the UK?
Really? England is a massive country football revenue wise and it's entire winter is strictly SG..... There will be thousands like me who think it's not worth buying one pair just for FG.
FG will 'kill' SG because plenty of people use it on two types of surfaces... I don't really understand if it was a case of cost vs production why they'd then release SG in the Ace and X. I'd probably argue that it's due to the soleplate. If you look at it, it doesn't look like it would support metal studs. Either way, seems bloody silly not to sell them in SG in this day and age, but I'm biased so bound to say that.
I don't think so, until now there is no such leak... check the women's one, I don't know if it has different sizing/fit but I realy like this colorway too!
Understanding from my point of view that I am from Australia: where in basically every single sports store here, there is on average 1-3 pairs of SG boots available. That being most of the time, Kaiser 5's or World Cup's. So hence the reason for my comment. In Australia, they would not sell at all... I mean c'mon, the FG's aren't selling very well either!
