Something you get from CVS when things go very wrong. So yes, our next coach is going to be a pharmacist. And he or she will still do better than Pablo. I just don't see any competent coach wanting to come here, especially knowing that Bravo is going to be the one pulling the strings when it comes to player acquisition. It's the issue that drove away Gary Smith, and it's going to prevent us from getting anyone who isn't completely desperate to get a coaching gig. Also, Watts as future #6 - fine. So we have Watts, Sarvas, Cronin, and Pittinari all as #6s, and we're playing our only #10 out of position. Fantastic. Maybe we'll go 0-0-34 next year with 0 goals scored and 0 allowed.
I respectfully disagree here. If you look at the roster as created by Paul Bravofrom top to bottom, I think we have the talent there to win more games than we lose (which usually gets you in the playoffs). I think we have been tactically deficient as well as playing guys out of position (or not at all). We may not be a "deep" squad, but the talent is there. I would expect a new, competent coach (no disrespect meant to Pablo) to come in, make < 3 personnel changes and be battling for a playoff spot. Frankly, we have some of the best facilities in MLS. Denver is a great city. The weather is amazing. There is tons to do. I think the candidate pool would be good.
Love this. We keep getting this inferiority complex about Colorado. Colorado is a GREAT place to live as an athlete. The facilities are good. Management is a bit of a pain, but imagine living in KC. Ugh. rod.
I can only hope this meant they were targeting left back from the USMNT pool. De-fense, de-fense. :| (that is my sarcastic face emoticon)
I disagree on the talent. Powers is not a high quality #10. The outside backs are sub par The CB's are prone to errors The outside mids are average, at best The forwards haven't shown the ability to score. Could a better coach get more out of them, maybe, I'm not hitching my horse to that single fix however.
I... I... uh, ... http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...y-bug-leading-decreased-production-front-goal
How do you know? We haven't seen them do much with the Rapids, but one can't separate their lack of performance from the tactics. I am also not convinced it is 100% coaching. Just that the Rapids FO has brought in talent (at least it seems that way), for some reason it isn't working. Options are: 1) The players aren't that talented 2) Tactics are so poor that the talent is muted 3) The team needs time to gel 4) Colorado is just a horrible place for soccer My guess is it some combination of the first 3.
Well hey, when you lose the combined 1 goal Lucas and Luis have scored in 2259, you really are losing an offensive menace. Not to mention the combined 5 assists in 2259 minutes. At that pace, they'll equal Jovan Kirovski's goal output here in....11 or 12 seasons.
sadly it was a defender and an outside back too, but no USMNT. Premier League experience and European National team pedigree. But a defender still. We are collecting them all.
Well, that seems pointed at Hinchey's comments about attacking soccer. Can anyone else say "train wreck"?
I just read "view from the booth" from the CHI game. He seems to be the only person within the FO, maybe Balboa too, that says it like it is. Aside from the cynicism we all have about this team and FO, it's actually refreshing to hear his realistic opinion that puts it like it is, even if it says we suck. I hope he doesn't get laid off for his methods of delivery by TH at the end of the season.
Nice short article on a few teams getting (or not getting) their bang for the buck. The net... L.A. - $420,000 of salary per point NYCFC - $640,000 of salary per point DC -$90,000 of salary per point It's all about choosing the players, all of them.
As an Arsenal fan I unfortunately can never forget that Kroenke isn't just a local Denver parasite, but others may forget. So here's some perspective from the ST Louis area: Joe Buck http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-ra...-buck-rips-rams-owner-stan-kroenke-on-twitter
Looks like Torres was not called up for Sept FIFA date games: Panama – vs. Uruguay (9/4), at Venezuela (9/8) Román Torres (Seattle Sounders) Anibal Godoy (San Jose Earthquakes) Blas Pérez (FC Dallas) http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...s-international-call-ups-september-fifa-dates
I know this year sucks, we lose a lot and the soccer product looks bad. BUT today, if we were in the East, we would be in the playoffs. On another note, MLS really needs to go to a single table. this is ridiculous.
