Welcome back. You have missed a remarkably uneventful summer until now. I mean this Kovacic deal just popped out the blue 48hrs ago and now he is ours. Same with the DDG rumors. They've started gaining more steam these past few days. As much as I wanted him here, I'd given up. Manure/LVG went about it the wrong way.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jul/16/bayern-munich-arturo-vidal-juventus-transfer-28m That's 28 million pounds not euros. £=pounds and €=euros. lol I'll cut you some slack on this so welcome back.
Kova is a fine player , hope he is not put to the backburners after one dismal performance (read Illarra ). De Gea can be a potential game changer , i would rather wait for another year to get him on a bosman , but the way things have dragged it has got all the makings of a typical Perez capture . Once you mentioned 40 me , i realised it has got something to do with the currencies , thanks for pulling up the exact article
I'm not sure it's structured like this, or if our management is that dumb to do it that way. How is the €15m which Porto are paying to buy out Casemiro's contract became out of the picture? We can only "buy back"a player if he is theirs, once his loan spell ended he is ours. As I'm understanding it: We loaned him for €1m, they bought him for €15m, we bought him back for €7.5m +if we decided to sell him, they will be compensated for their €15m, so we are supposedly making €7.5 profit. The problem in this case is Porto's management are too smart to do that. If this wasn't the case, and we are actually paying 7.5 millions (and another 7.5 millions once we sell him) for our own player "for 1 season of player's development", then this is really one of the dumbest deals we've made recently.
We probably didn't expect to want him back, so loaned him with a selling clause for Porto, then another clause for if we ever wanted him back in the future. We just didn't expect that future to be right after they got him. If we sell him for 5M with a repurchase clause of 7.5M, that looks like a good deal if he stays there a couple of years. It's only because we bought him back right away that it looks stupid.
We were the best team in the world at one point last season. Injuries to Modric, Ramos, James and Ronaldo's broken heart destroyed our season. I assumed our best XI will again be the best in Europe when healthy. We might encounter some problems when injuries take a toll on the team. But this off season, we spent nearly 100 million to fix the bench players. In my mind, we still need another backup striker, a defensive midfielder and a left back who would stay healthy.l
Once Porto wanted him, our buy back option was only valid until 5th of June, there is no plan for future by us here. Actually I think €15m is kind of too expensive for a DM for Porto. Honestly I don't even think Porto would've brought him for that fee, but they probably exercised that option knowing we will activate ours to get an easy €7.5, which they did. But we didn't sell him. We loaned him, for less than €1m. It doesn't matter if he stayed here (or worse, if he was sold), this is a badly structured deal and I'm pretty sure there were other interested clubs if Porto won't have it any other way.
Benzema will stay at Real Madrid. There is no reason for his departure. RM doesn't want to sell & Karim doesn't want to leave. [@rubenuria]— Real Madrid Info ³⁵ (@RMadridInfo) August 19, 2015 Karim Benzema will NOT go to Arsenal. He does not want to leave Madrid. [@fredhermel]— Real Madrid Info ³⁵ (@RMadridInfo) August 19, 2015 Seems to suggest otherwise
I think we were all expecting an eventful summer but in the end, it seems like FLO has this under control. The signings seem a lot more thought of and they actually make sense... VS spending on whatever Galactico that's out there. Benzema will stay... but is Jesé the right back up for him? Maybe under Benitez he will succeed when called up. We need this when/if the big guys go missing on a couple games (Ronaldo, Bale, James, Benzema...) I also think that De Gea will arrive this summer at the very last minute (that will be our galactico signing I guess) and we will give ManUtd Keylor Navas in return (I hope we don't regret this decision later as I think Keylor has been doing good for us) One thing is also almost for sure, Benitez will go with Bale as our "number 10" in the middle and move James to the right (or Isco). ---------------------Benzema---------------------- Cristiano------------Bale------------------James --------------Kroos----------Modric--------------- Marcelo------Ramos------Pepe---------Carvajal ---------------------De Gea------------------------- Bench: Jesé in for Benzema Isco in for James Chery in for Cristiano Isco in also for Bale (more chances to play Isco) Casemiro in for Kroos Kovacic in for Modric Varane in for Pepe Nacho in for Ramos Coentrao in for Marcelo Danilo in for Carvajal Casilla in for De Gea The depth is unbelievable... With just a little bit of luck, I can see us winning BIG THINGS coming this season.
The sad truth . I'm so pissed of at this situation , wouldn't blame them if one of them left . all thanks to Perez .
Even switching positions to his 'free roam ' role and he still can't perform , we play our 2 best creative players on the wing and let bale play AM , I just don't get it . James/Isco/modric/benz that should be the order for that AM position and somehow bale is starting there every game .
Having 5 players for the front 4 positions with the most notorious player-rotation manager in the world is perfectly fine, particularly coming off a year in which injuries played a heavy role.
I pray this is not true. The loss of Benzema would seriously weaken our already scantily covered striker position. I don't quite fancy a new signing to lead our line at this point nor am i too happy with Ronaldo shifting to an out and out striker.
There's too much smoke at this point for there not to be some substance to the Benz rumors, but I struggle to see how it would make any sense for us to sell our only striker. Also, 67ME is a decent but not-great haul for him, I'd expect Floro to hold out for more.
