I see Torres come in and his footwork is second only to Sanchez. He makes some passes (back/side) that only a player who has excellent field vision makes. Yet games went by when nothing happens--I use the past tense since he rarely plays now. I have no idea whether Torres could be a good MLS player because as you wrote, we have no coordinated team play. I can say it would be hard to find a player on any MLS bench who has twice as many goals as any other player on the team. Not to pick on Eloundou, who plays hard all the time...but Eloundou, really? Could we have one game with Sanchez and Torres flanking Doyle (with Powers right behind them)--and tell them to attack? And unlike the coaching staff, I haven't given up on Serna, because as with Torres, I have no idea if it's the coaching staff holding him back.

So the new thing on Twitter seems to be celebrating getting blocked from Tim Hinchey's account. Oddly I'm not blocked from that account....

(Its probably because in all my time having a Twitter account I've never sent a single tweet, I just use it to follow other people after Twitter killed their RSS feeds.)

For once the Onion actually gets it wrong as this fake news article has Kroenke actually talking:
    http://www.theonion.com/article/st-louis-rams-threaten-leave-town-unless-taxpayers-51109

St. Louis Rams Threaten To Leave Town Unless Taxpayers Personally Build Stadium With Bare Hands
ST. LOUIS—Emphasizing that a new venue to replace the 19-year-old Edward Jones Dome is an absolute necessity, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke revealed Monday that the team will be forced to relocate as soon as 2016 unless taxpayers build a new stadium with their bare hands. “We want to keep Rams football in St. Louis, but realistically, we can’t continue operating here unless the city’s taxpayers agree to lay a 1.3-million-square-foot concrete foundation and then construct the new stadium by hand,” said Kroenke, adding that his proposal for a state-of-the-art riverfront stadium would require at least 22 months of manual labor from each of the 320,000 residents living in St. Louis. “The facts are simple: The people of St. Louis must be prepared to personally erect the arena’s 14,000-ton steel structure, raise and paint the 30-story-tall stadium walls, screw in each of the 80,000 seats, and install a retractable roof—all while using only basic hand tools, which we would be willing to provide. Otherwise, we’ll have to consider the possibility of moving the Rams elsewhere.” At press time, sources confirmed that Kroenke’s proposal was unanimously approved by the St. Louis city council.

Hey, for a moment I thought it was a case of dead men walking. But, then realized it was the odor of the corpse flower blooming in Denver. Sadly, the flower will probably bloom again before Colorado wins MLS Cup.
(just kidding...not everyday I get the chance to work "corpse flower" into a post)

When I asked, I got the Rapids' well worn story from my season ticket rep - a big name player was being pursued, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

The Rapids announced today that the start time of the final home game of the season on October 10th has been moved forward from 7 to 4pm so as to not conflict with the USA-Mexico playoff game.

So I've come to realize the following things this season:
1)PM is insane, by which I mean, someone that repeatedly does the same thing over and over, expecting different results from each outcome. For god's sake, change tactics...everyone knows what you're going to play and how efficient it is. He needs to go, plain and simple. He's been given a chance to be successful and he's not made it happen. Please end this experiment and send him packing or move him to Youth Director. Something else. PLEASE.
    2) As much as the FO states it, Youth isn't that important at all. We've signed only 3 HGP, sold 1, let another go, only 1 left on the roster. Signed A Young DP, who almost doesn't see the field. Have former YOR in Powers, whose out of position/on the bench and was singled out as a focus point. Ok, the FO signed veteran leadership and an abundance of older players to guide this team. Get it, youth needs leadership...but to not play these young players when they're obviously good or at least let them try, its plain stupid.
    3) The FO isn't measured by success on the field at all. That's all on the coach (possibly asst as well) We can all visually see the product on the field doesn't equal to how many people are showing up. For example, the C38 is possibly moving to the South stands, for their own reasons, but the FO and sales/sponsorship will gain club seats to sell, ala ASG seating. Value for return right there.
4)TH has zero clue how to help the on-field product. Zero. He also needs to go, sadly, I don't see this happening as he's doing what he was hired...off-field.
    5) This team is horrible, and I mean in the top 5 worst teams in MLS all time. That hurts to say honestly. Of the original teams, only NYRB, FSL and Dallas have won as many trophies as we have. The expansion/retraction teams (TOR, PHI, PDX, MTL, ORL, and defunct CUSA, MIA, TBM) are actually worse, but they've not been around as long to measure equally or aren't around at all. Those teams all have owners who try...may not succeed, but try.
By standards of worst seasons (PLURAL) in a row, we've got the cake. Even DCU awful seasons weren't as bad as ours since last year.

Sorry for the rant but we as fans need to some how get through to the FO/KSE that we're not happy. We need a new coach and new people in charge to change this ship around, badly. Otherwise, honestly, I don't see if going anywhere soon.

The really sad part of this is that Pablo is going to be let go. He has been a great servant to the club but while it looks like Bravo and Hinchey did him a solid making him head coach, it was really a ticket to failure-town. What SHOULD have happened is Bravo/Hinchey should have hired someone with head-coaching experience to mentor Mastro for 3 years so he could then step into the role. I think we will look back and say with hindsight that Pablo got screwed.

What Hinchey SHOULD do next is let Pablo AND Bravo go. Hire someone who can run the soccer side and create a vision for the club and get an experienced head coach who can implement that vision. Wilmer Cabrera's son is on the younger Academy squad, so the former Chivas coach is around as well as Dave Dir who has head coaching and assistant coaching experience as well as front office experience. Both of these guys were on board with Oscar's philosophy and I think we all agree we were headed in the right direction during Oscar's time here. I don't want to hijack this thread with "who will be the net head coach," talk, but there is experience out there that we can tap quickly.

Look at what a team like Columbus has done, or FC Dallas- each have a top-down philosophy that so far has delivered a high quality of play as well as winning. We need someone to deliver a vision that the head coach can implement within the first team and the academy coaches can implement with the kids. It is clear from our play that we have no vision and are looking for experienced players who can stop the bleeding in lieu of having a vision.

Well, TH and PB have both repeatedly stated their vision of the Rapids play, which has conflicted for just as long with the actual play on the field. Even when pieces this fit this vision are brought in they are seldom used or used in less effective field positions.

I want a house cleaning but like others have said, with KSE running things, the reality is it will be the same exact thing but different names doing it.

Bottom line Rapids spin off money for other KSE businesses, while most likely creating a tax write-off from "$ loses", there is no desire to put a "good" product on field as long as this dynamic is achieved.

I read that article today and thought...holy shit, what a load of crap this team and it's PR does. PM needs to be corked...his quotes will go down as lines for a comedian I swear.

As earlier stated, we need a coach to say it like it is. Vermes does that well after they we're taken to the shed last night. I couldn't see PM/PB/TH even saying anything close to that. There would always be a positive to take away.

I understand what you're saying and agree, but it seems to be a personal preference.

I do recall plenty of folks online in 2010-2011 in a fury over some of Gary Smiths comments after games where he called out the team and even players.

either way, tempest in a tea pot if you ask me. its individual coaching styles, and I'm sure it is not always an accurate reflection of what is said post match in the dressing room. but Pablos comments to the press (post-match, pre-match, midweek interview, etc) just get further and further away from reality if you ask me.

I don't think it is a big secret that the coach and others in the organization seem to be self-deluded. As for the fans that are still here though ...

STH Brian Mercer got to have one of those infamous(?) 1 on 1 sessions with Tim over lunch today and tweeted about it.

    https://twitter.com/bmer916

Those tweets don't make me feel any better. It seems like there's lots of dysfunction between Tim, Paul, and Pablo.

Seems like he's pushing off responsibility, and then with this

if it's even close to being true, seems pretty likely Hinchey's job is safe.

Maybe they will fire Pablo to sate the fans and then nothing else will change.
