I will kill mandriles by the buckets for Barça... as long as the slaughter doesn't involve too much running. I have a sweat gland condition, and a man's luxurious beard can get pretty nappy...

Hey, no worries, Arda: you won't have to run til the winter anyway!

    Carry on.

He let the three stooges Munir,Sandro,Rafinha stay while selling the only decent la masia who can play on the wing, + knowing Pedro will leave making us continue without a proper winger until winter in case anyone of the front three gets injured , guess MR Genius Zubi sure made his mark bringing Lucho before he left to continue his legacy :cautious:

I think for once they managed to get a OK fee for a player. 10+2 M Euro for a player who hasn't played for our first team is not bad. There is a buy-back option for the first three years as well, if he gets minutes and develops in the Premier League then I see him coming back. If he becomes another Deulofeu then 10+2 is fine.

I saw suggestions a few weeks back that he didn't have the footballing intelligence to be a Barca player ...

Adama deal is ok, esp. with the buy-back option.

What "suggestions about not having footballing intelligence"? Seems bs. He is obviously a smart player.

Some guy with Barca connections mentioned it the other week ..
That's supposedly the reason they released him ..

I'd take the view of the ballroom staff to our somewhat blinkered view to be honest .

Rooney is regarded as an extremely intelligent footballer but you'd never call him intelligent in the true sense of the word.

I was either Gabriel Marcotti or the other Spanish football expert ... On Sky Sports

I can take a view of staff as well, but not without confirmed source (and sometimes the staff isn't correct anyway). If Adama was among the very best players of Barca B, to me it means he has - at minimum - a solid "football intelligence". Sometimes we get good offers, and especially with a buy-back option, it's nothing special that we sell. It doesn't mean the player has to have some radical lack in his game, especially something that hasn't been too evident in his game so far.

Marcotti is a decent journalist, but he has no connection to Barca.
this is just English media speculation.

I don't know his name as I mix the two of them up all of the time but they BOTH have hundreds of contacts in the game and that's a fact .. it's a given - just as footballers have footie boots .

    seriously?

without a direct quote from someone who has worked with Adama on a daily basis - or even from anyone who has actually watched him play enough to form an opinion - this is nothing but media speculation.

describing some random journo working for English media as "some guy with Barca connections" and equate his unverifiable speculation with "the view of the ballroom staff" is very misleading.

there's a very big difference between a journo having contacts within an organization and someone who is actually professionally connected to an organization.

Those Spanish footie experts are hired by TV / Radio / media ..... for good reason - they know people behind the scenes .
I can't believe that some of you armchair enthusiasts think they know more than the professional pundits tbh.

Not that I agree in the first place that a journo saying something would mean that it equals to staff view, but just for the record, we still don't have the source here. A name of a journo is not enough. When and where did he say what he said? What did he exactly/actually say?

I think why Adama was sold is pretty simple: Aston Villa's offer was too good to turn down, and with the buy-back option, we have the chance of seeing whether he turns out great quick (in which case we can get him back) or whether he doesn't, in which case nothing happens. Barca got relegated, so if we're serious about him being part of the first team, he had to move from Barca B anyway to guarantee tough enough competition. EPL is just that, especially if he gets notable playing time.

FWIW, it's not about forum debaters knowing more than journos, it's about critical approach to journos. One doesn't need to know more than them to be able to question what they say (or in this case, are said to be said, as so far, no exact source/quote have been given).

    no, you misunderstood again.

nowhere did i claim to know more about football than the pundits.

you just got called out on your lack of media literacy. that's all. no biggie. nothing to get all defensive about.:)

Pedro fails big time AGAIN !! Balloons the first clear chance way over the crossbar after 5 minutes when we NEEDED an early goal .. Plays a laughable air-shot ( missed the ball completely for his second shot ) . Then he tracks back and gives the ball away with a ridiculous blind pass which would have given them the game .

Hazard plays on the left and I think Willian typically drops to the right. He is doomed.
