Tigres falló todo lo poco que generó, River no. Simple.

Lo del arbitraje, bueno, era de esperar así que nada que comentar.

I think the actual quality of both leagues equally suck in general, but our teams always choke in the big stage. Internationally, Liga MX is seen as a shit tier league. Getting embarrassed year after year in the club world cup by African and Asian teams doesn't help either. Our league doesn't produce much great talent either. Teams and fans are also pretty vanilla, and that costs you in these types of finales. It is what it is.

Who cares. Their league too has been in the decline. Good on River beating Tigres but its whatever.

Yup, plus has Tigays even won a game this season? Honestly IDK but they're looking pretty shitty, even by Liga MX standards.

They should have had Guerron out there sooner.

Also, Jurgen needs to grow some balls and shoot when he has a chance.

Argentine league has been in decline because of the insistence of the argentine govt that everything has to be paid in argentine pesos and who wants to come play getting paid in worthless currency. Plus the batshit idea of making a 30-team league didn't help. But the big teams are still opulent on and off the pitch.

Everyone knows the problems about LigaMX so I won't get into that. But one thing most forget is that LigaMX do not have the tradition or experience in competing in International tournaments. Tigres had the right idea of stacking their team with talent but that talent hasn't got a chance to play together long enough to make a difference against a River team that had chemistry playing together for a couple years now.

LigaMX teams are only prepared to make the Liguilla and for owners that's enough. Most South American teams that want to win the copa have depth in their bench to compete in multiple tournaments. Plus the hunger and desire to win the copa is much more desirable than the local league. One knows that they will be immortalized with winning the libertadores. A cup that unlike the CL is much more difficult to win. LigaMX, but more especially the mexican players, want to win the copa but they know it's gonna be the end of the world if they don't win it. There's always la Liguilla and the mexican title.

They've been playing with a reserve squad in the league for the first 2 games. Prepare your anuses cuz the super Tigres will be going in dry in LigaMX and CCL.

Nah. Conmebol football is till much ahead of Concacaf football, and no Mexican club or national team will win Libertadores or Copa América any time soon. Tigres got close this time but I never considered that River would not win at home, and they did by 3-0 which is sort a humiliating score. Same as they beat my team. They are good. And see, they didn't have their coach, and a number of essential players due to injury or suspension, and still won comfortably, 3-0. I think they are much superior to Tigres, including, having more depth as shown by not being bothered by all those missing players.

Youre rigt about Copa America. Mexico wont sniff a title there until they are able to send a full team again. Libertadores is odd since a lot of it depends on what type of team qualifies. By not being a member of conmebol, you dont always get to send the "better" teams to the competition. Its whatever. At this point evryone has seen what the competition is like in south america and it really aint all that.

It really ain't all that? It is still FAR superior to Concacaf, and only behind Europe in the world (not by much).

Pray tell, what has Concacaf won in the World stage in men's football? I'll tell you: almost nothing. No World Cups (South America: 9). No FIFA Club World Cups (South America: 4). One Confederations Cup (South America: 5). No Libertadores Cup since 1998 when Mexican teams were first invited; skipped 1999, participated every time since 2000 (South America in the same interval and again skipping 99, 16). No Copa America since Concacaf nations were invited in 9 editions (South America all 9). One Copa Sudamericana (South America 12).

    So, let's tally it all.

Wins by Concacaf national teams and clubs in competitions in which Conmebol national teams and clubs were also in attendance: 2 (both in the "consolation prize" tournaments, Confeds and Sudamericana - none in the main events - World Cups for nation and club, Copa America, Libertadores).

Conmebol wins in the same tournaments: 55

    LOL, 55-2. That's a pretty humiliating record.

The Concacaf is a dwarf, compared to Conmebol.

Breh, you came to the wrong neighborhood but i will respond.

Did i stutter? like i said, it aint all that.

When people talk up south america its usually 2 countries and leagues they are talking about. No doubt that Argentina and Brazil are top tier in the world both in history and accomplishments. To a lesser extend Uruguay who made most of its noise in the very early days of football. But last time i checked, conmebol isnt just a 3 nation conference. Pls tell me about the glories of the rest. Go on tell me about the rich traditions of Ecuador and Bolivia. Or the mighty Peru that has not been relevant since the 70's. Or Colombia who qualified for its first world cup in how many years. Paraguay? Chile?

Wow. So you are telling me that Conmebol teams and nations dominate Conmebol competitions? damn, that's way impressive.

If you really want to look at things why not look at the concacaf (mex) v conmebol teams in those competitions. Pls show me how badly we've been dominated. I'll wait. Like i said, in aint all that.

There is no doubt that Conmebol is a far superior conference any way you look at it. Concacaf is a really weak conference but lets not pretend like every conmebol team is some great squad. Mexican teams have more than held their own that i feel comfortable in saying meh to libertadores and copa america.

LMAO. Ok sure, we are dragged down by minnows like Carribbean teams and the nads. So you're right, because of them, C'CAF is crap. But who cares, what about Mexico's place within S.A football.

The fact is that none of your Brasilian teams this year were able to place 2nd in S.A., while one of our teams did. And none of your teams were blocked from participating in the tournament, while 4 of our teams were because of CCL. And despite of that, we still did better than you. Tig are subchampions of your entire continent, b. Think about that for a second. They bested everyone except River Plate. Brasil fell behind us this year.

Mexican football's standing among your confederation is not too shabby considering all the limitations imposed on us. We will never truly know how we can do in your competitions, but with our also-rans, shit gets done. We'll see what happens if River meets the Ferrari in Japan.

Only losers are happy with second place. Winners win. The Libertadores this year (and all years) was won by a South American team, again. Congrats to Tigres for... being second. It's never a good enough result for true winners.

Anyway, I had to go. Dinner party. See you all.

It was only a year ago that the world saw the massacre against germany. Also been a pretty poor libertadores run for your teams the lastcouple of yrs.
