http://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2014/12/official-announcement-marco-asensio Real Madrid C. F. and R. C. D. Mallorca have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marco Asensio, who will join our club for six seasons. The player will remain at R. C. D. Mallorca until the end of the current season.
I've read he is a promising young talent, maybe the most promising at his age. Don't know much else. Don't even know his true position, can someone fill in the details? Also what do you guys expect his career trajectory? When could he be a regular with the first team?
Welcome , hoping that he would have a great future here . i like the new direction that the club has been following in the recent past , picking up young talents spending relatively cheap , and if they blossom according to their potential then great otherwise no great loss , clearly we are keeping an eye on the future while doing great at the moment , really a great time to be a Madridista.
3.9 mill, no real risk on our part with this deal, even if he turns out a flop we can recoup this sum relatively easily.
I dont know much about him, but from what I've read he seems like a talented winger. Seems like we signed him for the first team, and he has been lighting up the Segunda so far. Best player in the 2nd division last month. If I had to guess, it appears we are considering Jese as Benzema's substitute and we brought in Asensio to backup Ronaldo and Bale.
Welcome! Good depth and who knows he could be the next Cristiano Ronaldo lol. His youth is great as well. Won't have to worry about him demanding minutes in a CL final anytime soon.
Can't go wrong by signing young talented Spanish players. Isco's path to glory might inspire more of these guys to play for us which is a good thing, considering that the club missed out on a lot of these players from the past golden generation.
So is he signing for Castilla or the first team? Because he'll not develop if he moves directly to our first team.
First team. He is going to be 19 when he gets here. With Chicharito gone next summer, Jese would be our only real backup for the front three since James and Isco are really midfielders in our system. This transfer is giving me Varane-like feelings. Highly rated kid coming on the very cheap and won't demand starting minutes. He'll get to train with the best and grow up in the biggest club in the world. I also like that he is in the Spanish youth setup. We're really building a good crop of future and current Spanish NT players.
In addition to speed & dribbling, looks pretty decent at taking set pieces. Scoutnation did a video on him-
The words pace and decisions aren't often used to describe one players strengths, sounds pretty good.
Apparantly he's half Dutch and can speak the language as well. After realising this some Dutch supporters are already advocating for the national team to get him and snap him away from Spain. If he's smart he'll say no after seeing the (the lack of) future prospect of the Dutch team.
It looks like he's fast. But holy shit that music from ScoutNation, scout some music bros. I'm watching it with this in the background:
I think the plan is similar to that we took to Canales. Bring him over next summer, let the coach assess where he fits in, and then likely loan him out to another first division club (and preferably Mallorca if they get promoted).
He was a key player for Spain's under-19s to qualify for the European Championships (3 goals in 3 games), so he will miss the pre-season games in Australia and China. I assume he is out of Rafa's plans then? I don't see him counting on a 19-years old player who missed the pre-season to play Jese's role in next season.
I think he might already be better than Lucas Vasquez on the right. Time will tell who will be the first in line to cover for James, Isco, Bale and Ronaldo. Keep in mind we have Cheryshev, and Odegaard on our roster.
He is sooooo good. Really don't want to send him out on loan but I don't know if a backup position is good for him at this stage in his career.
I'm not sure how you can come to that conclusion? Asensio may end up better but from his 2 appearances, aside from having a good touch, he hadn't done anything noteworthy. Lucas is trying things that haven't come off the majority of the time, but he seems keen to help in any way he can. I dig him.
