Well they are using the old hashtag of #Crew96 instead of the new one #CrewSC. I just bought some for my "Son", so thanks for posting this.
This is perhaps my favorite thread of all time on BS. Stange looking toy fans. Comments about Caucasians v. Whites. Top-quality jokes from both Mr. Warmth and Bill Archer that made me actually laugh out loud. And some kind of weird screw up on the Sounders kits. All beautiful.
Poor Kamala he is now in a wheel chair due to health issues. http://m.bleacherreport.com/article...egend-to-double-amputee-kamala-keeps-fighting
I'd expect an announcement soon but it appears that they are now doing actual players: http://www.oyosports.com/Soccer/Shop-MLS-Teams I found out because somebody out at ASG training today tweeted a pic of a Drew Moor All-Star figure (not available on-line): http://www.oyosports.com/Soccer/2015-MLS-All-Star-Game
Why is the Fire figure smiling? We have had f*ck all to smile about for years. He should be an angry bear or (for those of you in the know) a raccoon*! or, maybe, a bored soccer mom, buying her kids cotton candy. *For the rest of you, Raccoon has become the unofficial mascot of the Fire since a raccoon invaded the Skyway of Toyota Park during a US Open Cup game last year. Raccoon is the symbol of our dissatisfaction with and disaffection from the team.
As expected, here's the official announcement: http://www.oyosports.com/Soccer/Shop-MLS-Teams Clint Irwin makes the official announcement.
Looks like these lasted 2 seasons, they are no longer listed on the Oyo Sports site. Whatever the stadiums have are likely the last of the supply.
I figure a lot of the sponsors have changed since 2015. I know the Crew's has. It's probably not worth it to spend the money to redesign the figures to say "Acura" instead of "Barbasol" unless the figures were huge sellers. ------RM
I think its less about redesigning as it is just not being big sellers. I've read about the company and their setup in Boston allows them to manufacture with essentially no lead time. When some player they have a figure of has a big game (like a no hitter) they'll start manufacturing and shipping more that same night/day to have them in stores in the next couple of days. I got an email today from them about them having a John Ross UW figure and an announcement they'll have him in NFL team colors for ordering and shipping next week after this weekend's draft. Looking at that on their website is how I saw that MLS had been removed. So I think they could do the redesign pretty easily if that was really the only issue. I never saw the MLS figures outside DSG Park though (whereas I can find the NFL/MLB/etc. figures at Dicks' Sporting Goods, Toys 'R Us, etc.) so I bet there was never a big push for these and they weren't big sellers. If they still have the license they can spin up production again if the need arises. Meanwhile I'm glad I got my Tim Howard figure bought and autographed already
OyoSports statement on MLS figures: http://oyocollector.com/2017/06/12/major-league-soccer-and-oyo/ and the official checklist: http://oyocollector.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/OYO-MLS-ALL-Generation-Checklist.pdf Figures were made in quantities of 50, 100, 250, or 500 (1000 for the mystery fan packs). The rarest players (50 or less): Sean Johnson - Fire (There's an obvious joke here) Kevin Doyle - Colorado Boniek Garcia - Houston Matt Besler - 2015 All-Star Frank Lampard - 2015 All-Star (Another joke here) Chris Pontius - Philly Matías Pérez García - San Jose Drew Moor - Toronto
