A while ago, I became aware of a start-up new men's league in the NE (through the Evergreen Diplomats, which apparently play within biking distance from me) the American Soccer League. They play a fall-spring split season and are professional though currently affiliated under USASA with the goal of eventually becoming DIII. ASL finished their inaugural 2014-15 season with seven teams, down from eight at the start of the season, and another one folded this summer. Still, it looks like all six of those are returning for 2015-16, plus one or two expansion sides (hard to find exact information). It looks like they have three expansion teams in the works for 2016-2017, and they're also starting an ASL2 for 2015-2016 with 7/8 current ASL sides fielding ASL2 sides. Also worth pointing out that ASL seems to have a working agreement with the CSL.

I bring this up because their league site also has a tab for the Ladies ASL. It's currently just a splash page, though, so not much to go on, but it sounds like if all goes well it'll be starting in 2016. Will try to keep this thread updated whenever I think to check on information, either with LASL news or general health of the ASL organization overall.

I tried looking around to see if any of the other ASL teams had posted women's tryouts or anything similar, but half of the organizations don't seem to have any website or social media footprint at all! Makes me thankful for what NWSL/UWS/WPSL provide. X-D

Maybe... though it still says "LASL" in the navbar at the top of the screen. X-D Not to mention is only says one "team" in each of the three expansion levels first mentioned... And all the things that aren't expansion teams listed as "expansion initiatives" too.
(The whole ASL organization is viewed as highly unprofessional, as documented in the home thread there.)
