lol I can't believe I'm actually on the freaking tampa bay rowdies forum... YOLO http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ddy-adu-verge-signing-nasls-tampa-bay-rowdies
*former delusionist but I'm excited for him and for the rowdies/nasl. I'm going to watch these games if he plays
I lost the faith rather quickly, the Belenese days. The Rowdies are my NASL team, outside of the NYC publicity show, so I will be watching. Will be very intersed with TR in charge. After two U20 cycles with cluless Tab I long for for the fun U20 teams h coachs. We'll see what happens.
Not like he has a lot of options anyways, perhaps it is a step up from being in a 4th division Finnish reserve squad. Hope it works out for Tampa Bay.
Agreed, it's a good move for TB. Who know he may surprise some people and do a decent job. I'm sure some people who don't usually follow TBR will pay a visit to the stadium. Hope it works out for both.
The Rowdies have announced they have officially signed Freddy Adu fwiw. I hope he turns his once promising career around.
If this is true, it sort of shoots down the idea of Freddy moving from team to team while crying all the way to the bank.
Very interested to see where he slots in. Here's a video posted to the Rowdies FB. Quick interview of him at the airport. https://www.facebook.com/TampaBayRowdies/videos/10154026134208835/
Freddy is going to rock NASL...he's going to pull a Dom Dwyer - score the most goals, then head to MLS, then score the most goals again. If Ibarra can get 3 caps while playing for Minnesota United, then Freddy should get capped too by next Jan. Booyakasha.
It all depends on Freddy. He's got everything he needs with the Rowdies at his disposal in order to succeed. He just has to take advantage of it. For the Rowdies, it's a low risk, high reward situation. They apparently did not break the bank to get him and already we've had incredible media coverage and public attention that most clubs only dream of receiving. Ticket sales should increase, as well as merchandise, so, in reality, it's already paying dividends for the club. If Freddy doesn't pan out, it wouldn't really hurt the team's performance, as we've got a very deep roster and have done well without him. However, if Freddy manages to turn his career around while he's here, it would be the icing and cherry on top!
