Fans would probably protest if they brought artificial pitches in over here which think they tried last year but it got knocked back, I don't think I'd be too happy but I'd much prefer that than Premier League B teams plaguing the FL. I sincerely hope that our new sigings are top quality because we've lost another good player. Kari Arnason now gone to Malmo: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33314862 I hope we got a decent fee for him. We don't have a single foreign player in the squad now... god help us. Players out: Craig Morgan to Wigan Ben Pringle to Fulham Kari Arnason to Malmo Players in: Aidy White released by Leeds Joe Mattock released by Wednesday Lewis Buxton released by Wednesday
Found a potential new striker for when Matt Derbyshire goes to Grimsby Town on double the money we're paying him, we might have to break our wage structure to sign him though. http://postimg.org/image/t6om2ygwb/
Emmanuel Ledesma set to sign for us, we're surely bigtime now with an Argentine player? Here he is looking thoroughly delighted with the move: http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-emmanuel-ledesma-2521760.aspx
and one i've heard of... outside of playing for wednesday.. Genoa, QOR, Walsall, Middlebrough, Brighton&Hove... knows his way around a middling club... ;P
Middling sounds great to me!! I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful now, I'm still a bit concerned about our defence though.. Arnason and Morgan have been like rocks at the centre of our defence over the past few seasons and we've lost them both this summer, along with fullback loanees leaving it's looking like we're going to have a completely new back line. Talking of which we've just signed Danny Collins as well: http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-danny-collins-2522801.aspx Players out: Craig Morgan Ben Pringle Kari Arnason Players in: Aidy White Joe Mattock Lewis Buxton Emmanuel Ledesma Danny Collins
We've signed Tom Thorpe released by Manure now!! Evans must be an hypnotist. http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-tom-thorpe-2525121.aspx http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/12/shoul...ave-given-tom-thorpe-a-free-transfer-5241675/
We've now signed a Swiss Army Knife from Forest, he can play as striker, midfield and anywhere in defence apparently: http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-greg-halford-2528886.aspx I would send him back tbh because he can't play as goalkeeper. Every summer it's a huge merry-go-round here, I just hope Evans can work his magic again and push us on to mid table.
It sounds like the Blades are a bit bitter about us signing Halford, he's one that they were hoping for. Updated transfer list: Players out: Craig Morgan Ben Pringle Kari Arnason Players in: Aidy White Joe Mattock Lewis Buxton Emmanuel Ledesma Danny Collins Tom Thorpe Greg Halford I'm feeling really hopeful and excited about the season now and there's still a couple of players to be brought in apparently, the only downer is Wigan are now after Derbyshire but maybe that will give Jordan Bowery a chance.
Grant Ward in on loan from Spurs, any good Pookspur? Rotherham United have signed midfielder Grant Ward on loan from @SpursOfficial subject to FL and PL ratification. pic.twitter.com/ZkSpJWFdTo— Rotherham United (@RotherhamUnited) July 13, 2015 Wednesday fans trolling our Twitter though.
I've seen a bit of him (whilst on loan in MLS), though not a lot to be honest, but from the sound of things, he may be a player. spurs' youth over the last couple of years have gotten a lot of attention, and to be frank, Ward was nowhere on the radar until his loan to the Chicago Fire awhile back, where he was used as a wing forward, to pretty good reviews. he then went to Coventry City where he (by most accounts) played a decisive role* in keeping them in league 1. they used him more centrally, where he apparently excelled, but which will hardly move him quickly up the ranks at Spurs, where there are a glut of very talented youngsters ahead of him. literally everything I heard about him at Coventry was good, though, and I know they wanted to keep him. the move up to the championship should be a nice step forward in his career, and though I know little of how things look up there, I'd think it to be a nice bit of business for Mr Evans. *along with forum favorite Reda Johnson, of course.
Sounds promising pookspur, he's already stood out and scored two great goals for us in pre-season albeit against non-league teams. Ivan, I think if you did a league table counting the turnover of players throughout all four divisions we'd be easily top under Evans... it seems to be the way he operates but then that's ideally suited to us because we aren't the sort of club who can hold onto our best players for very long.
Wow, what a test before the new season starts: http://www.mainz05.de/mainz05/en/aktuell/news/news-detail/article/letzter-test-in-england.html Wed 8th July Parkgate FC 0 - 6 Millers Sat 11th July Stocksbridge Park Steels 0 - 3 Millers Tue 14th July Alfreton Town v Millers Sat 18th July Greenock Morton v Millers Tue 21st July Dundee v Millers Sat 25th July Partick Thistle v Millers Wed 29th July Millers v Leicester City Sat 1st Aug Millers v FSV Mainz 05
Paddy Kenny spotted at tonights game, he seems to be a free agent and we could use a decent goalkeeper.. hmm..
I've always liked Paddy Kenny, despite his porcine essence. I know nothing of his game since leaving Leeds, and couldn't say whether or not he'd still be good Championship signing. He's a good Yorkshire lad, though, and a decent keeper, if he's still got it.
I think we could use his experience if he's fit and still up to scratch, Collin has been great for us but he's a bit green at this level. We just lost 3-2 to the mighty Alfreton Town, not to worry just yet as we made a dozen subs and were treating it very much like a warm up game.
you gonna get to that Mainz match, Myshoe? I kinda like them ... but then, I like damn near everybody in the Bundesliga. I love a bit of that German footy culture, me.
I'm an armchair fan these days pookspur. I used to go a lot when they were back at Millmoor getting relegated season after season (towards the end anyway) it got really depressing lol. I've been tempted to start going again for the last few seasons but I'm a bit of a tight arse these days, both Leicester and Mainz are really tempting but I'm scared I'll get back into it and have to start selling my possessions to go more often then. Two more loans announced from Derby today, goalkeeper is now sorted apparently and Rawson is coming back: http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-derby-county-2548696.aspx
Scott Loach has left for Notts County now we have Kelle Roos on loan for the season. Players in: Aidy White Joe Mattock Lewis Buxton Emmanuel Ledesma Danny Collins Tom Thorpe Greg Halford Grant Ward (loan) Kelle Roos (loan) Farrend Rawson (loan) With released players and transfers out half of our squad is brand new from the end of last season, also by my count only 3 players are left from our League One promotion winning team/squad.
well, then, if it's a money issue, by all means, give the friendlies a pass. but get thessen down to the stadium now and again once the season starts. of course, footy is ridiculously overpriced - even at lower levels than the championship. but it's right in your backyard, man! folks like Ivan and I would kill to be able to go every week ... the least you can do is pop in once a month or so! ... oh, and if you go on 24 Oct, I may just see you there. depending upon how Sky moves things around and the Europa League draw, that could be the week I get over, which could mean that my annual Yorkshire/Wednesday jaunt takes me to Rov'rum.
