Positives: - Would be a Top 20 best paid player in spain with this salary. - he will be fresher and better prepared for Hex games and Gold Cups. - is already a formed player, he is not a developing talent anymore so this wont hurt him that much. Negatives: - his ceiling has dropped somewhat - his form will take a dip during the offseason which is not that worrying since most important national team games take place during the summer. - will be worse prepared for international games outside of concacaf. But dont let me stop you, spazz away...
At best his overall level will drop, but will be readily available for NT appearances. At worst he will continue to be injury prone, get fat and lazy while collecting his fat paycheck. Either way it's a huge disappointment, but truth be told it would be hard to turn down that amount of money despite playing in one of the worst leagues, but in an attractive country. Oh well, at least we have Vela...
At least he'll be the face of the MLS. Should have no problem scoring around 15-20 goals a year with those horrible defenses.
In. Blows that he never became the elite player we hoped he would become but hes still been a rock for the NT. Cant knock him for wanting to get paid when he would never see those type of numbers at any point in his career in Europe. I don't think MLS is a great league but its also not the amateur league a lot of poster make it out to be. Sucks for the guys who like living vicariously trough our players, though
Delete this thread. This dude is a complete disgrace to Mexican futbol. I'm know I'm pissed, but I hope this guys career goes further down the toilet.
