CONCACAF.com has a profile of Aslinn Rodas, a US native and former Cleveland St. player, who is now at Xelaju MC in Guatemala.

After receiving a Guatemalan passport, Rodas made his debut at Petapa on January 31, following up that outing with ones against Halcones FC and Antigua GFC.

Those matches convinced Guatemala head coach Ivan Sopegno to extend Rodas an invitation to the national team’s first gathering of the year in preparation for upcoming friendlies against Canada (March 26) and El Salvador (March 29).

"I did not think it (the national team call-up) would come so fast," said Rodas. "I'm happy to be called up to the national team for the first time."

Looks like he signed a multi-year deal with Xelaju last month and has his eyes on representing that country as well:

Aslinn Rodas podría convertirse en el primer futbolista nacido en Estados Unidos y de padres guatemaltecos, en jugar con la Selección Mayor de Fútbol de Guatemala.Aunque apenas cumplió su primer entrenamiento con la azul y blanco, sus posibilidades están intactas.

He's a '92 who played in college. MLS scouts seemed to like a lot of his game:

It's a small world, since it looks like that video was posted by a former YA who coached him in college. I'll let you do the digging if you like.

While this was a Gold Cup prep match, Rodas isn't on the Gold Cup roster for Guatemala.

He's no relation to Jorge Rodas, who played for the San Jose Clash back in the '90s, is he?

Not his son... Born July 10, 1992 in San Rafael, California...son of Juan Rodas and Dalila De Leon...has two younger brothers, Dilwyn and Evan.

Jorge is the younger brother of Julio Rodas and both were on the Guatemala NT. You'd think that would get mentioned if Aslinn's uncles were on the NT.

Interesting that he has a teammate named "Oliver Alexander Rodas" who doesn't appear to be closely related and who isn't the American Rodas. There's also a Marco Rodas in the squad, so it appears to be a common name in Guatemala.
