Same squad for Colombia except they went with Teo (see my Avatar) instead of Bacca.

Their best striker on the bench.

^... Yeah , cool pic. Very appropriate. There is a reason why he never made the jump to the big leagues.
Not playing Jackson because he does not blend with the NT is like leaving Messi in the bench for Argentina. It is the coach's job to get the best of their best players and play a formation that suits their style.

Partidazo, juegazo...

The entire team had a very good first half with the exception of Falcao who missed some good chances. One on a counter and another after receiving a great pass from James.
Colombia can do much better if they play James as false 9 with Teo and Cuadrado on the wings and Jackson as their striker similar to how they played at the world cup.

I saw Teo drifting to the left a lot yesterday and Hames more in the middle which is why I said that - maybe this was as a result of having Falcao in.
In any event the whole point is to remove Falcao from the starting Xi as he is hindering the team by not playing the best striker, which is actually on top form.

I disagree, I think Thiago Silva and Miranda were quite busy and pushed by Falcao.. but hey that's all the dirty work no one cares about when you are a striker. Agree about his shots.. were awful.

I have not heard any positive comments from any commentators on Falcao's performance in the cup so far. The people from Bein even said he is no longer the same. This is very clear for anyone to see.
I would go with Jackson /James or James /Teo up front like they did at the WC. Why change what was working perfectly just to accommodate a player that is in poor form.

Falcão was underwhelming to say the least, I expected more from him.

But cuadrado is the real star for Colombia. Falcão had some nice setups on longballs, but a player of his "stature" shouldn't just be setting up other people's scoring attempts

Falcao just has not been the same since his major injury in 2014.

That said, he can still be very effective and he is a leader. Also just needs some confidence. A Goal or two could be a catalyst for a positive rest of the tournament.

The sooner you and Pekerman realize this was in the past the better it will be for the team.
Colombia should not be team Falcao - they reached the quarterfinals at the WC without him and there is all the proof that you need to understand that the team does not need him to succeed or play good football. JR10 and Cuadrado are the best players.

And by the way the true leader of the team is James, he is the point of reference now and leader to all the other players because of what he has been able to accomplish in such a short time - they all look up to him. Falcao instead went to Monaco chasing the biggest contract.

You just can't bench the team captain.
You do not know what goes on in training sessions and behind closed doors. If he is a crucial part of the locker room and the team chemistry and morale then he must start.

The team just defeated Brazil with Falcao on the field. You may say it was in spite of Falcao but I would say he contributed to this accomplishment.

And I think this team can go far with Falcao on the field.
I love Jackson as much as the next guy and was calling for him to start over Falcao before Pekerman got here but I also know that the team has played its best soccer when Falcao is on the field. And I believe this can happen again as the tournament goes on.
