Rod, hate to say it but when I played with the Latin American guys in college they had a name for me, it was Spanish for "tall white guy that can't play"
I've attempted to organize my thoughts on why the Rapids should make a change and how they should do it. Feel free to discuss, disagree, call me a negative $#!+head, or whatever. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2015/06/time-for-change.html
Agree with what you said but in almost a political (save face) way they seem to be 'stuck' until after the All Star match. And after that they will probably just play out the string and then in the off-season feign a search and take your advice with Lopez.
FWIW, the crappy teams in the east are catching up in terms of points/game. The Rapids have the fewest wins with 3, that's the first tiebreaker. Bottom of the table: Code: PPG Team W L T PTS 1.00 Fire 4 8 2 14 1.00 Rapids 2 4 8 14 0.94 Union 4 9 3 15 0.93 NYCFC 3 7 5 14
Slightly amused on a total lack of comment on the season thus far by RFO. How long will that continue?
yep, guess the next step is a price increase on those seats... not anything to actually improve results.
Or someone flies a plane overhead (which I suppose would qualify as media embarrassment). I am wondering when someone will re-fly the banner.
I thought your assessment was fair. The sad thing is that by hiring an unproven club legend, the RFO put themselves into the position of possibly firing a club legend. I still partially blame Pariah for this situation as well.
I'm over Pablo as coach, this is brutal watching him struggle with what he's got. Honestly how can the owners and management be ok with this shit? Oh right, I forgot the owners don't give a f*ck and management is as useful as a screen door on a submarine. #TimeforClaudio
I swear any decent coach could get more out of these players...I think a decent coach could have gotten more out of last year's team as well. Pablo was thrown into the lion's den and it's time to pull him out.
Hopefully whoever flies the plane with the banner will do it at the All-Star game in an attempt to embarrass the front office into action. Like others have said Pablo won't be fired until after that game. Last night was a perfect example of Pablo not having a clue. We start Jared Watts and Shane doesn't make the bench. We need a goal and he subs in a DM for a DM. Instead of keeping Powers in the middle and switching to a 4-4-2 he sticks with the 4-2-3-1 with Doyle in attacking midfield and Powers out wide where he is invisible. Clueless. At some point you can't keep doing the same exact thing and expect a different result. Pablo has to go.
Accordingly, through game 5 of the new striker era, it doesn't seem like much has changed. 9 goals in 10 games before, 3 goals in 5 games (MLS games) w/Solignac and Doyle. Solignac has looked promising, I guess Doyle gets an incomplete? Meanwhile they seem to have lost Torres. Link up play still seems AWOL, with lots of long passes, kick and run stuff. Rapids are last in goals and I think 4th in shots per game, and thus last in goals per shot. They're near the bottom in shots on goal as a pct of shots. Those numbers don't look better in the 5 games.
#Pablo out- i would love too see that on the banner at the all star game - lol - hell i will help pay.
I think the banner should say something like this, "KSE, riding the coattails of others." "KSE, holding the league back."
It should be spelled out so that Kroenke sees his name on the banner. More personal than just KSE. Kroenke Sports Enterprises: Holding Denver sports back since 2000.
Yep, the best opportunity to really cause a stir is at all star game. Hopefully it can fly around for a good chunk of a half.
