On the plus side, this US team has a bit of attacking intent that was missing in the last game. I sense a comfortable win coming.

Oo, another close call, but I think that was just offside.

Looking like it might have been a mistake not to play club matches... she seems rusty.

17' 0-0 Holiday at 33m box left, taps square out to Lloyd. Chip to 9m 6-left, Wambach flashes right-to-left and flicks hiiiigh over Dede coming out -- offside. Replay shows Wambach's head past the last defender's feet, broke the plane of the Achilles.

18' 0-0 Rapinoe intercepts, shoots from arc top mid-right, bends to right post, Dede pushes it wide.

The offside line is 2nd to last defender OR the ball. Johnston is behind the ball when Wambach plays it.

20' 0-0 Krieger chips over box top left post, Morgan gets behind, onside -- this AR loves us :p for the workout. Dede comes out to 12m mid-left, Morgan pulls up, Dede lets ball roll over.

Krieger has been just horrible on the attack. I don't understand. This is the 3rd game on turf and she's still booting it or sending it to nowhere.

Why are we defending with all 10 in the box on their corners?

22' 0-0 Nigeria right ck, Ebere short, tap back to her. Cross blocked over.

23' 0-0 Nigeria right ck, into 7m left post, bounces away. Morgan emerges from the 6-top scrum, hoofs it past midfield.

23' 0-0 Nigeria pass across circle top to the right ... pass to Oshoala, Sauerbrunn(?) perfect slide-tackle. USA probe up midfield right, miss into touch.

FFS that was nearly a disaster.

Johnston got the recovery. Solo didn't have it.

Why booting the ball upfield for a clearance instead of attempting a counter on Nigeria?

If Johnston was behind the ball (or even) at the time Wambach played it (which she was, in my opinion), no offside.

24' 0-0 Wambach harasses #6 Chukwunonye in deep left corner. Nigeria pass to center circle, long 30m ground pass sends Oshoala past Johnston through box arc top mid-right, to 12m right post. Johnston lunges across, flicks right foot and blocks shot over.

25' 0-0 Nigeria right ck, cleared.

26' 0-0 USA to Heath down box mid-left, passes square out. Chip from ~box top left post, Dede catches at 4m left post.
