It was ugly and we got bloodied again but I'll take it. Colombia were favored by a goal. I hope BJIV is alright.

MOTM could go to any of Steffen, Rubin, CCV, Miazga, or Payne. Absolute top notch performances

And now, Requejo starts at LB against Serbia. (Unless Tab Ramos has a brilliant idea like putting Delgado or Moore there.)

    Nah.

Many of us are also USA fans.

And many of us saw this happening with the manager Colombia has.

Is Payne suspended for next round or did cards reset after group?

Great win. That was a tough match for us and things weren't going our way, but the kids hung in there. They should be proud.

I don't have words to say how amazing has been CCV today.

In modern soccer, defense is the most important part of the game. Those who fail to understand that, are left behind.

I thought Arriola was very effective and professional

Edit: But our defense kept a clean sheet so......c'mon, hv to give it to Steffen

I really want to know why Acosta was favored over Requejo at LB.

90+6' (of +5') 1-0 Colombia switch to 25m left touch, ref allows one last attack. Payne chases him to 2m, wins a tackle at box left foot, pokes it out to wide left. Before USA can even reach it to clear ...

FT 1-0. Payne paints a soccer ball victory flag on the side of his duffel bag.

Congrats to Tab and the boys for a fine effort. Rubin and Steffen were the stars, but everyone except Delgado was decent, even Acosta. Like Cobi Jones said near the end of the first half, the physicality of the Colombians was a problem, and they won more than their share of 50/50 situations. The referee for the most part let physical play go, which helped Colombia. Allen disappointed me once or twice by going to ground too easily, but for the most part the players fought as hard as they could. The first goal proved to be critical. Colombia lost composure for a while after the goal. Obviously it sucks to lose Jamieson, who would have caused problems for Colombia.
