I dont think Egypt withdrew , they are in training camp preparing for Olympics qualifier reported Egypt FA website today. http://www.efa.com.eg/article3626.htm
it's listed on the CAF's website under fixtures for the qualifiers: http://www.cafonline.com/en-us/comp...zdyuWJ6gjizAUBmIJhHFRSumv7vGEnOY84bIpr4Fg9/J2
adding to the pile of withdraws, Mali withdrew at the last minute. http://www.thenff.com/2015/05/mali-dodges-super-falcons-in-olympics-race/ The third round looks like this currently: Ghana vs. Cameroon Botswana/Kenya winner vs. Congo/Equatorial Guinea winner Nigeria vs. Zambia/Zimbabwe winner Ivory Coast vs. Gabon/South Africa winner
so according to FIFA, the Egypt-Ghana matches are still on. I really wish the CAF would update their page for this tournament.
TODAY Kenya 1 - Botswana 0 (2-2 aggr., Kenya advances on away goals) South Africa 5 - Gabon 0 (South Africa advances on 8-2 aggr.) Zimbabwe 1 - Zambia 0 (2-2 aggr., Zimbabwe advances on away goals) Ghana 3 - Egypt 0 (Ghana advance son 4-1 aggr.) Equatorial Guinea vs. Congo - UNKNOWN THIRD ROUND MATCHES(*to be confirmed) July 19 & August 2 Ghana vs. Cameroon Kenya vs. Congo/Equatorial Guinea winner Nigeria vs. Zimbabwe Ivory Coast vs. South Africa
correction, the score was Equatorial Guinea 4 - Congo 0. (7-0 aggr.) CONFIRMED THIRD ROUND MATCHES to be played July 17 & 31. Ivory Coast vs. Zimbabwe Cameroon vs. Ghana Nigeria vs. Equatorial Guinea South Africa vs. Kenya
South Africa 1-0 Kenya Cameroon 1-1 Ghana Nigeria 1-1 Equatorial Guinea I don't think the Ivory Coast vs Zimbabwe match has happened yet; its scheduled for Sunday I believe. Interestingly though the Zimbabwe WNT first were refusing to travel for the game and then scheduled a sit-in on Wednesday and refused to practice in protest for unpaid bonuses and fees going all the way back to a year ago and which currently amount to $1000-$1500 per player.
Zimbabwe withdrew last minute. Ivory Coast advance to final round to face Cameroon/Ghana winner. http://www.fedivoir.com/fifci/?q=article/elim-jeux-olympiques-dames-3è-tour-aller
The reason for Zimbabwe's withdraw: no money. They'll now face a ban. Quoted here from the WWC forum since it seems the most appropriate place.
One thing I don't get about CAF: how someone thinks a ban will solve (or even somewhat alleviate) the no-money problem.
The article also says that CAF will fine the Zimbabwe FA for entering the team in the competition. Probably just to line the pockets of the thieves at the CAF. It's not like they are going to use that money to promote women's soccer somewhere else on the continent.
Equatorial Guinea beat Nigeria 2-1. Nigeria is out! Final round: Equatorial Guinea v South Africa Cameroon v Ivory Coast
wooooooow..... o.o I mean, Nigeria has lost games in Africa before, and Eq. Guinea has won two CAF championships, the only team aside from Nigeria to do so, so I guess it's not THAT surprising, but still...
Cameroon, on penalties, at least for the last OGQ campaign. If you're talking about the CAF championships I mentioned last post, 2008 saw Eq. Guinea beat Nigeria 1-0 in the SF, and 2012 saw South Africa beat Nigeria 1-0 in the SF (and Cameroon beat Nigeria 1-0 in the consolation game).
