as Wednesday's porcine neighbors sit poised to botch another promotion playoffs effort, I will concede that i'm slightly disappointed. I wouldn't mind them going up, if i'm honest, as I miss the steel city derbies. of course, i'm not Wednesday, so there's that. but any owls supporters miss the derby enough to want the Pigs back up? just curious.
pigs match was incredible today. I was on the edge of my seat, and was only monitoring it on matchtracker. it must have been amazing to have been there.
I thought they were going to do it when they got it to 5-4 and the board went up for 7 added minutes, great game for the neutral every time one of them went forward they looked like scoring. I still find it hard to have sympathy though when you hear them denouncing League One as though they're too good to be there.
It was semi final 2nd leg, I meant to say 5-5 when the board went up, 7-6 on aggregate.. they had 7mins injury time to get an equalising goal but couldn't manage it. Swindon got played off the park by Preston in the final the other day and Clough has been sacked today.
well shit. thanks stu. http://www.swfc.co.uk/news/article/...-gray-leaves-sheffield-wednesday-2490403.aspx
Just saw that. Not sure how I feel about it, other than to say that it's a harsh reward for having done a difficult job pretty well.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ointed-Sheffield-Wednesday-s-new-manager.html didn't see that coming; and no idea what to make of it. mr. chansiri has a plan, it seems. i sure hope he knows what he's doing.
I thought Gray did a terrific job last season, you just needed to splash out on a top striker to turn all of those draws into wins.
i'm not sure. the Nuhiu bashers will say that he squandered opportunities, but i'm not sure how many of them there were. the midfield, by all accounts (that I've heard - and there's been a lot), lacked any kind creativity, whatsoever. Spurs in (I think) '11-'12 were a club who 'just needed a striker' ... plenty of creativity, loads of chances ... but defoe and crouch couldn't finish. not the most technical analysis, I know, but our bitching sounded very, very different from the Wednesdayite bitching of '14-'15. edit: I completely agree about Gray, though. this is not a move that fills me with confidence.
i agree about gray too. fingers crossed. there is a new thread for us by the by... http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/2015-2016-sheffield-wednesday.2021193/
