Benzema plays direct football and gel well with cr7 but he is not good in converting half chance to goal ie fox in the box type which is essential to bring diversity in our tactics when opponents where able to cut down our counter or opponents defend in numbers... Not sure who is coming or going this season but compared to barca or front line is less creative and less aggressive ..some where we miss what Suarez is doing at Harv
Theirs is better and more creative, but that has to do more with the other 2 than with Benzema. Benz is the most technical of the 3

Benzema didn't score in over 1200 minutes playing for his national team, to put it another way he didn't score in over 15 months in a system where he is the focal point of the attack. Bale and Ronaldo haven't done that with their national teams and at the risk of being called a hater, Benzema has consistently had stretches of not scoring for us too. He is an incredibly gifted player but his movement and ability to read the game are relatively weak.
Sterling is not a striker by any means, his finishing is seriously bad. He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.
That's all true, but the OP was referring to the creativity of the MSN not their finishing. It's true the MSN Is more creative, but that's actually one area the Benzema is strong at. If we lack creativity, it's more due to playing 2 very similar players on the wings
I agree he's creative but he's just as likely to turn the ball over as he is to actually pull the pass off at times, how many times have we seen him pass the ball during a quick counter to the one place it would kill the attack? Or lay the ball off to nobody? Both Ronaldo who seems more interested in looking cool doing a flick and Benz who just doesn't read the play all that well should do better. Bale too has been remarkably hot or cold, he'll complete a perfect cross into the box for Ronaldo and then not even run to get on the end of a pass. The final third is rather cramped bc this 3 don't do enough for a variety of reasons.
To answer your previous point my friend, we have Ronaldo who is quite possibly the best player in the box and one of the greatest aerial players in the history of the sport. We're good for that. I disagree that Benz is poor at reading the play, quite the contrary really imo. I think one of his great strengths is playing the right pass on the counter or faking the defenders into thinking that he will be passing on one flank and frees up Ronaldo and passes to him instead. I think he definitely has room for improvement in terms of decisiveness, dribbling, and especially aggressiveness. He's still too timid for my liking and has to toughen up (he's bulked up significantly this year, but I don't think that necessarily translates to being hungry and strong on the ball, it's more attitude I believe.
I agree he needs to be more hungry, to your point there was a time when Zidane was publicly stating Benzema didn't need to score goals... That said Benzema had 10 assist in the league this season, that is roughly the same as Bale. The difference though is we hear one is finally playing good football and the other needs to be sold, when the truth is Benzema's season maybe good by his standards its not good enough for this club. Similarly if Bale has a season next year with goals and assist in the mid to low teens he'd need to pack his bags. You're right about Ronaldo's movement in the box but also wrong, his movement to get onto the end of a ball to score is as good as it gets, he doesn't give even walk though to create space for Bale or Benz though. If you compare our front three's movement to barca, its not even close by some margin. For us to be effective our front three are going to have to become more balanced, the team right now is more effective at generating opportunities for Ronaldo than anything else and that is not a good thing.
I like this news, well except the part of being linked to Sterling but signing a player in each line will surely make us a better team or at the very least one with more depth to help against injuries. Edit: De Gea, Rodriguez, Pogba or Verratti and someone like Vietto would be a great summer for us(also the return of Casemiro). Let's just hope one of our best players doesn't have to be sold to fund these new transfers.
Out: Navas Arbeloa Illaramendi Khedira Chicharito Jese That's what I think we'll see. Please no Sterling. He's English so he's probably not good.
I'd keep Illarra, Silva can go out on loan, and are they really suggesting Sterling? This must be another money making ploy, pure nonsense, no to him if I had a choice.
I'd keep Silva. He barely had any playing time but he impressed me more than Illara. The kid really doesn't have anything going for him. His passing range is okay but above all he's just too weak physically. Sterling isn't actually that bad IMO but I don't want him here and not for the money an English player demands. If that kid leaves Liverpool his career is over.
Sterling's agent was recently adamant that they were only looking at English teams -- makes perfect sense that Sterling would want to stay there for a multitude of reasons.
Not being biased because he is Brazilian but if we wanted a winger backup, I'd look at Felipe Anderson of Lazio. Only started in December and then out for a month injured in January but has 11 goals and 11 assists from the right wing. I think with a full season he can hit 20/20. Too bad the oil clubs are already circling around and the numbers are getting too high for what we should pay in a backup.
A defensive midfielder and cover for Modric are so important. If we had those things last season then it is most likely that this last week would have been spent laughing at Ramos for dropping the La Liga trophy off a bus rather than complaining about Benitez most likely being our next manager.
If we're looking to spend big on De Gea and someone like Pogba this summer, we can't afford to keep Illara. The fact is that he's relatively young and we could still get some decent cash from his sale. We can't afford to keep him as a "nice to have" just because he's Spanish and "could be" the next Alonso or Xavi. Let's just call it a tiny mistake and move him on so that we can fund other purchases. I would keep Lucas here though.
If Sterling would come for a reasonable fee, I think he would be a nice addition. We need a winger, and there are not many high quality wingers out there on the market. He played very well last year, this year not so much. But Pogba, even more than Verratti, would be fantastic, as well as De Gea. Just don't sell Modric.
