He can't cross or finish..... Not great at defending or attacking

That's why he failed since he left Udinese that masked many of his weaknesses. He is very fast and doesn't get tired. Tries to attack but doesn't add much there and then doesn't track back quick enough.

Hope he doesn't make Copa America we can't give players favors that don't play.

On @ESPNFC: Pablo Armero departs AC Milan for Flamengo http://t.co/OsokSZ3NQi

He has no excuse not to play anymore. Our current LB options are poor. One is from a second division club and has played horribly thus far. The other, Anderson Pico, was out of football till last year with off the field and physical issues. He was decent last season, but this year has been plagued by injury and inconsistency.

We have a lot of speed on our team, so we will rely on him to help push the counter and provide support. Our fullbacks have been asked to pick their spots and stay back a bit, so Armero's discipline and positioning will be put to the test.

In his defense, I still prefer a left footed player with pace in our LB position. I just find Zuniga more useful else where.

He didn't attack very much. It makes me wonder if he's lacking match fitness.

Not surprising. I expected as much. Unfortunately, the team ha been struggling as a whole, so that won't help much.

He had a better game on Wednesday night in the Brazilian Cup vs Nautico. He was still pretty up and down. On defense, he showed vulnerabilities. He gave up a FK near the PK area after handling the ball. On the plus side, he made some nifty moves on the left against a well bunkered defense. He had one perfect cross that led to a dangerous header on goal. Unfortunately, the goalie made a great stop.

Luxemburgo was fired on Monday night and we already have a new coach. Our other LB, Pico, had a good relationship with Luxa. I doubt he threatens Armero for the job unless Armero is very, very poor. Hopefully, things are looking up for him and Flamengo moving forward.

Don't tell me he has been a poor crosser :( He showed some good attacking throughout. It seemed like he lacked a bit of pace and acceleration compared to when I last saw him (World Cup). I know defense isn't his strong suit, and he needs to really improve to even return to the level he was at defensively. He was poorly positioned, didn't close players down on the wing well, etc. He also pushes too far forward on occasions. There were a couple times where he looked like our left winger based on his position.

In some semi related news, Flamengo just signed Paolo Guerrero. He should help give Armero a target in the area and hold up the ball for our players. Our current striker flubbed chances on Wednesday and killed counterattacks, forcing Armero to return to his position quickly with the space left behind.

yes, his finishing is poor and his defending is not great but he's got great pace and does set up well. That being said, there must be much Armero is missing because this year in year out of clubs is not good for his form.

Here's the video. Unfortunately, it doesn't show Armero's nice play before the cross.

Armero got owned on defense on a goal. I guess that's part of the territory.

I'm concerned about Armero's future with the club. It's probably safe to say he will be elsewhere in January. After the Copa America, he lost his job to Jorge, who featured on Brazil's U-20 team. Since then, he hasn't made an appearance and hurt himself in training, which kept him out for weeks. He was deemed fully fit last week, but our new coach opted to play a midfielder (Everton) at LB yesterday vs Sao Paulo since Jorge was suspended.

I think pekerman should thank armero for his contribution to the team and move on to a new LB for the qualifiers .

Only thing is he did not play all that badly in the Copa.
And Andrade just does not seem ready. And seems too be pushed around too easily.

I wish he would go to Mexico or back to Colombia at this point, maybe if his agent is smart and good he can get him back to Udinense

He still good enough for South America and Mexican leagues. He has failed after leaving Udinese and at his age we really need to look at other options but any Colombian league fan not willing to have him come to your club with open arms haha.

Armero is fast and has crazy stamina. He can't cross, shoot, attack or defend well. On our nt it's less noticeable because we have always had great CBs but at clubs they don't put up with it. Will be pretty pissed if he gets called up this for the next friendlies

and don't forget....can't use his right foot.

gosh, i can see Armero quickly becoming the new Luis Perea - the Bigsoccer.com whipping boy of the post 2014 era...
