Probably going to be enough fixtures in future to warrant a thread, so anyway...

Thought it was a bit strange how we used an older squad than the USA for this, U20s should 1995 born or below. Yet we even had a 93 in Moses Odubajo playing and a few 94s.

It's because they used U20 WC eligibles and we used Toulon eligibles.

Yeah I thought the TT may have some bearing. Odd we aren't preparing against older opposition, or atleast being fair and matching their age restrictions. Still, it's better we had these fixtures than none at all, these two nations would always be a test.

    Toulon Tournament confirmed -

    http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2015/apr/toulon-festival-fixtures-confirmed-140415

England will kick-off this season’s tournament against Morocco on Thursday 28 May at the Stade Leo-Lagrange in Toulon, where they will also face Ivory Coast two days later.

It’s then on to the Stade de Lattre in Aubagne to play Mexico on Wednesday 3 June before the final group game with China on Friday 5 June takes place back in Toulon at the Leo-Lagrange.

Should the Young Lions progress beyond the group stage, the final will be held on 7 June at Stade Mayol in Toulon.

Should be on Eurosport so we can see for certain during a full game how Boothroyd's team play. It says Boothroyd can pick some 93 born players but I hope that isn't going to happen now we wont have an Olympic team option anymore.

He can pick from the U20 and U19 pool of players, which will be loaded. It would be nice to see Brown, Roberts, Barker, and RLC to be picked among others. Should have a much better squad than last year. It would be great to see Baker and Swift in action. Hopefully Ibe will be with the U21's, but if not then he'll probably be here.

I was thinking it would be a good idea to pick a few of the u19 players, myself (not those eligible again next year though). Just for the experience.

With Toulon starting on the 28th the squad should be out anytime soon. I'm hoping Akpom and James Wilson will be fit, available and selected. It would be nice to see the pair of them putting a few goals away - Akpom in particular will be needing a confidence boost.

Not sure if this interview has been posted before.

I like his style of play a lot and he seems very determined to succeed. Hope he becomes an Arsenal legend.

Demarai Gray invited to England training camp

Blues winger Demarai Gray has been invited to attend a joint England U21 and U20 training camp next week.

To date, 18-year-old Gray has made four appearances for England U19s, but has yet to represent the Three Lions at a higher age group.

The camp is being held at the St George’s Park National Football Centre from Monday 18 May to Thursday 21 May 2015.

It forms part of the preparations for the UEFA U21 European Championship Finals in the Czech Republic in June, as well as the U20 Toulon International Tournament, which begins later this month.

England U21s are coached by Gareth Southgate and England U20s by Aidy Boothroyd.

Good idea to make it a joint camp. Quite a few of these players will be on the radar for the next campaign at U21 level.

Not sure how they will do it as there will be potential standby players involved. I assume they might want some time with these players that turn up before releasing a squad list. Quite a few players that potentially might go to the Toulon will still be with their clubs aswell so that will delay things.

Heard Brendan Galloway did well. He has 11 caps for the U19s. Perhaps a call up for the U20s.

Find it bizarre how late they're announcing it. Will also be pretty annoyed if Loftus-Cheek is cut from the U21 squad when he could be playing here. I know having it start so close to the season is a logistical nightmare but this is cutting it real fine.

I will be amazed if RLC gets dropped from the U21's and doesn't end up in the Toulon squad! If that happens, I will lose all faith in Southgate, the FA etc! It would be balmy!

I wonder... Mourinho obviously won't want RLC away during the summer, so do you reckon this U21 call up was agreed to that he could skip the Toulon Tournament?

Seems like we'll know the squad by tomorrow. You'd think they would've announced it by now. Anxious to see whose in.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I assume that Loftus Cheek will be with the U21s and unless he's first choice he'll be cut and go without a summer tournament.

No chance that he goes to Toulon now, the U21s don't meet up till June and we will have already played 2 Toulon games since then.
