That's a good first step. But simply walking past the office windows with displeasure spelled out across bedsheets and placards will get but a chuckle. The SOB's need to step up the game. What good is trying to make a point if the target already has shown an inability to do it's job? They know you will be at the game buying the same things you always buy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, support the players, yadda, yadda, yadda. Well, the players deserve some sympathy but again, the ownership knows you'll be there to comfort them and their wallets. If you own season tickets there isn't anything you can do that won't burn that investment. This is a good point of the season to stop buying anything else. Stop buying the concessions and reject any freebies. Don't involve yourself with any of those warm-and-fuzzy fan/staff get-togethers. Call them after each loss and tell whomever you get how you are not going to renew your season tickets after the season if Sakiewicz isn't sacked as Operating Partner and a new football man is inserted to do the job of righting the ship by renewal time for 2016. Let Nicky collect his portion of the profits and handle something he can't screw up. That allows you to use up your season tickets you've already paid for and gives them a hint of what's to come through the shortage of concession revenue. Until the time comes for you to re-up, the club will let you know - through inaction or otherwise - how seriously they regard your financial and emotional dedication to their franchise. If you renew, you are only enabling them to continue doing business as they've enjoyed since 2010. If you don't, and others do the same, then a message has been sent, you save your money, and you can lay your weary head upon your pillow that night knowing that you won't be treated as a fool. It took me just one season to see them for what they are. I'm not that dedicated a sports fan that I will throw money at a problem for other people to fix. They don't show me they are any more than a bunch of dodgy used car dealers in some back alley operation. But my boycott alone is useless if I'm the only one doing it. So the choices come down to two considerations. Are you the type of fan who likes to waste money on a club so that you can feel dedicated? Or are you the type of fan who doesn't care about such inaccuracies? Money isn't everything, but if I have to earn it, others will have to as well.
Carroll is starting. Bunker ball it is. 600062878033543168 is not a valid tweet id Reserves: McCarthy, Fabinho, Lee, McLaughlin, Hoppenot, Ayuk, Pfeffer.— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) May 17, 2015

I love you too Vincent. We've got a lot of energy trying to press, but we're wasting it all because we don't press correctly and block off passing lanes. I have seen numerous players literally run in circles chasing the ball. The whole point is that you are supposed to cut off options while creating a sense of immediacy that forces a mistake. Not running around like a chicken with its head cut off while DC United passes triangles around you. Credit where credit is due though, for a busted up ol' tank Casey has dangerous moments.
They had no shape, often looking like they were playing a 4-4-tortoise........ Gave the ball away without necessity, and made little in the way of incisive runs. Still; they gave a greater all-around effort, showed more in the way of sustained intensity. Didn't get down over a disallowed goal, Wenger kicking the can down the road, and Conor's seemingly lost ability to finish clinically anymore. Because of that..........they find themselves in a game against a far superior side.
Andrew Wenger needs to find another career, right now. Casey has some life in him, despite what the internet says. Maidana needs to sharpen up. As he plays so the team's fortune goes.
Like TFC, this is a false positive. DC only occasionally pushed the effort And seem content to hang back. Still the U could get a bounce.
Some grumblings about BC7 again on Twitter. The guy is close to retirement, is the 3rd option and has to start due to injuries. His halftime stats show he's had more successful midfield distribution than unsuccessful, and stats show he's already had a handful of midfield recoveries defensively ... but, yeah, HE's the problem. Often wonder what he did to become such a scapegoat for some.
Will the Union get off a shot this half that isn't blocked? The world may never know. In reality though, this is some of the most dangerous I've seen them look in a while.
It's telling though, that the majority of our attacking play is get-it-wide-and-cross. There is nothing down the middle.
Arnaud v.s. Carroll - Battle of MLS v.1 Only comparatively. They're playing very poorly, but not the train wreck we've become so familiar with. Or, at least, the most train wreck-y moments have gone unpunished. There have a been a few nice balls served in from wide areas, but it's the only trick we have up our sleeve. Bill Hamid can gobble most of this stuff up all night long.
Nobody has a killer instinct on this team. It's like there's a rule somewhere that forbids Chaco from shooting the ball on net. And Casey...wtf, if there is one thing I expect him to do it's to crash the net with reckless abandon...and he slows down and waits for everyone to catch up to him.
