The crowd was more like 5k to 7k. Weather was bad, cold and rainy. That is just tickets sold, if the weather was better it probably would have been close to that number though.
But to be fair ... they owned the Wizards for some time too ... the ownership change didn't change it ... the stadium and rebrand launch was night and day ... ownership change was pretty low key in the jump in attendance/market awareness, etc.

Jacksonville so far is the only one to go over the average this week. I'm expecting Edmonton to have another low turnout. So the average will most likely drop to around 6,500 after tomorrow. However with Indy, Jacksonville, and (most likely) Minnesota getting large turnouts all season the record should easily be broken.
It was snowing in Edmonton a few minutes ago, changed to rain and now sun is out again. Will be a low number for sure.

A season ticket rep called me yesterday saying United should sell out most games this year. By next year every game will be a sellout and two years from now over capacity.
Great numbers so far. Jax is averaging >10K, and the only two teams who AREN'T averaging more than last year are Edmonton and Ottawa
Not the lowest of the "Modern Era." That was 3,091 on Monday night, May 12, 2014. But, yeah. 74 degrees, partly cloudy. Ouch indeed.
How could a team with no history at all and a team named after an energy drink possibly take anything away from the storied history of the Cosmos?
Gotta say....when they couldn't sell out Coney I got that business as usual feeling. Waited until this week hoping to be wrong, but damn, didn't expect this.
