Its weird because I used to get so excited when French teams played in the Champions League yet I had no interest in this match. I wish PSG advanced but they had no chance.

There was no way. Barcelona in the group stages, then Chelsea with an unfair red card for 90 min, and then Barcelona again with half our team suspended/injured. It crushes me to see other teams who didn't have to experience all of that. It's not that we would have won had the circumstances been different, just that there really shouldn't be so many goddamn obstacles.

I've never had more regrets in the CL than this year.

The sad part is how much we had to overcome against Chelsea only for this to happen.

    Oh well. Paris est magique.

How do you beat a team like Barcelona when you have to adhere to financial fair play rules and they do not. Corrupt Platini UEFA mafia in full effect.

edit, I forgot about their transfer ban

I watched the game later on (without checking the score until they scored and then I checked it). I was already at school and I ran into my professor, so I had to go because she already saw me there. Plus, it was an important class, so it wouldn't have been a good idea to skip it today. :(

One of the most frustrating things is Blanc's pathetic attitude. In his press conference, he was asked if he respected Barcelona too much and it made me laugh because it is so true. How is he supposed to motivate and inspire a team with his horrendous defeatist attitude? All he does is praise the opponent (before and after the game), which really does nothing for the players or the supporters.

We really need a world class foreigner to replace him this summer. There's just no way he will ever be good enough.

All the French managers have the same attitude.

Which is why we need a foreigner.

You need a coach like Rudi Garcia maybe?

I like him, but we need someone several levels above. You need a world class manager to get the best out of world class players. We need someone who is accomplished in Europe.

Rudi Garcia is kind of world class. What about Louis van Gaal?

I think LVG is going to be at United for a while.

My biggest wish would be Pep, but I doubt it would happen.

Don't overrate Pep. He is good with certain style teams but not all. I am not very familiar with the way PSG play so I am not sure how good he would be there, but I am telling you if he went to Juventus he would be no good.

I'm not overrating him, it's not like I think he would win us the CL just from his mere presence. I just think he is very accomplished in Europe and he has a lot he can offer. Obviously it would not be wise for him to come until Ibra leaves.

Pep isn't perfect. He's a little obsessive and his drama can get obnoxious, but he is definitely several levels ahead of the clown we have in place right now.

There are many managers who would be a step up.

Pep would want a total overhaul of the roster, even if Zlatan wasn't there.

Rudi Garcia. Not the best time to pump him up for a job like PSG, although he'd probably be a good fit for the current roster tactically.

Yeah, not good, and I think Lille got thrashed in CL under him almost as badly as Bayern beat us in October.

I think Garcia is probably better than Blanc, but not the guy who would lead PSG to bigger and better things.

Yeah, exactly. And that's the thing about Blanc - he's not some complete idiot, like a Domenech type manager, who is just incompetent in general. Blanc could do well enough at another L1 club or a mid-table club abroad. When it comes to top class teams, he doesn't have nearly what it takes nor did he ever do anything to deserve being handed all this talent and potential. He needs to earn it with success at various clubs, in France and abroad, domestically and in the CL.

Blanc needs to go. That's basically it. It's a problem when you are so bad that your supporters are almost always able to tell when one of your choices will blow up in your face (like the Caen disaster, playing an injured Thiago Silva in a friendly... etc).

Blanc won Ligue 1 with Bordeaux right? Gourcuff behind Chamahk and everyone else defend IIRC.
