I thought CBC brewed Crew Brew. Is this true? And it's just a "rebrand" of the old name? All of the Great Lakes brands are too hoppy for me (I'm NOT a fan of IPA's.) Even GL's Dortmunder Gold is too hoppy for my tastes.
Are you implying that the soccer end of the Crew (ie 3G) is focused on the beer instead of the soccer? I don't see, if they are in fact brewing their own, where this has any interference with supporter local product... seeing as our team is, oh, ... local.
A bit better experience and it seems like the various departments may be getting on the same page. The Heineken Lounge is supposed to be open to guests for 30 minutes after the game, despite the fact they were kicking people out in the 80th minute during the second game. Meanwhile, the bar at the tent is supposed to be open for an hour. It made sense for it to close early the first two games with their lack of crowd and bad weather, but that tent still needs to become a post-game destination for fans who don't want to sit in traffic for 45 minutes to get on the freeway.
Oh my word, it was awful last night. And some guy in an SUV drove into the ditch by the Exit sign by the railroad tracks.
I have to admit, this season's schedule really s*cks for me. Looks like I will have to miss 4 of the first 7 home games due to schedule conflicts (I can't miss the niece's HS graduation, for example) and at least 2-3 more the rest of the season. And some are due to games being on Friday or Sunday when I could have gone on Saturday. Add to that the $15 parking and I am reconsidering my season ticket purchase for next year.
I have a feeling that the $10 passes won't last for long, either. More people are gonna end up walking or taking Car2Go. I'm sure some people drive to the area and take a Car2Go the final mile or two. As long as they still have you in the volunteer role, that's free parking, at least for some games.
Not sure how much longer that will last, though. They've moved to groups doing the 50/50 and the person who was running the Foundation has moved on to the Ronald McDonald house (an intern is now running things). Hard to say what will happen with new staff coming on--and I've only been to one game, so I have no idea what's happened in the last month. Hope to get caughut up with folks on Saturday. Things have already changed a lot (no major complaints, mind you--change was expected in a new org). 50/50 runs though halftime, so you don't get to see too much of the game (not that we don't enjoy volunteering, though, even if we don't see the game). As far as parking goes, what was the Crew Chiefs lost their credentials a few years back--it's game by game now (edict from MLS HQ).
At one point, there were certain credentials which didn't allow stadium access. In other words, a ticket had to be bought to actually go in the stadium, but they did say "Yeah, I have a semi-official capacity here." I would think MLS HQ wouldn't care about those so much, if they're worried about "too many credentials, not enough tickets." But yeah, same thing that killed the ambassadors...too many credentials and they could just have the "action" team do the handouts, as they were essentially helping out with the pre-game stuff anyway.
I'm extremely happy that they have turned the volume way down substantially on the music they play during the pregame and also on their public announcements. I used to have to wear earplugs, which means I must be too old.
You are admonished for complaining about $15 parking...the BS god like posters have spoken and have determine that it is not that much, so you are not allowed to comment on that..ever!
I think you mean that if he wants to go to "Major/Big League" games, he should be willing to fork over major league cash.
Speaking of public announcements, whose idea was it to speed through the introductions of opposing players...what, we can't yell "sucks" any more?
