It'll be even nicer to see it during Euro 2016.

In any case, it sounds like you need to start saving up for your dream property!

Lol I think I will have to start further down the food chain.

France should do a good job hosting. Bordeaux could do with a hostel or two though. It was strange that a tourist city doesnt have one, it would do really well situated near the city centre.

Hosting should go smoothly, but if we don't win it will be devastating. The one tournament we hosted at home in my lifetime (1998) was just so magical even though I was so little. I can't imagine having someone else win at home.

Interesting about the hostel idea. I've never been to one, but they are definitely useful to a lot of people in my age group that I know. It would a good idea for the Euro.

I like them better than a hotel. I'm sure someone will have the idea in Bordeaux. When we went to Poland in 2012, we decided to go 2 weeks beforehand so had to trust a newly opened hostel in Poznan with one review and no pictures. Turned out to be quality!

You won't mind Italy winning on French soil. It will make up for 2000....;)

Yes we will. For us, winning in 2000 made up for 1958, 1982 and 1986. And remember the final that never happened in 2006. No then.

No no no, that would be so bad! Haha. What's interesting is that, to be honest, I had a lot of negative feelings about the Italian NT after 2006 for years. Then this little gem Marco Verratti came along and it all disappeared (I will always hate that 2006 Italian team though, I can't help it).

That being said, anyone winning at our home would be so sad, but in future tournaments, IF we get knocked out, I wouldn't mind Marco expanding his list of trophies since we would no longer be in the running. I would want him to do as well as possible, but I wouldn't care about the rest of his teammates (minus Sirigu and Motta if he's called up).

The funny thing is I have a tiny (as in microscopic amount) bit of Italian in me (my father's great grandmother was Italian and I was named after her), but 2006 was just so hard to digest! I don't think I've ever liked the Italian NT because I've disliked a lot of their players throughout my life, but I don't feel that way now. Now I'm more indifferent to them, with the exception of our Italians in PSG. I was actually horrified in the summer when Italy went out after that cheat Suarez bit another human being! I felt really bad.

I think Spain is the only NT that I really still don't like. Ramos and Diego Costa on one team is just too much!

it is beautiful. all that's missing is a couple thousand empty beer cans.

seriously though it is much nicer than lyon's stadium. the first renderings showed it as much more assymetrical and desconstructed but it kind of went vanilla, and not very graceful vanilla at that.

20,600 the announced crowd at Matmut vs Toulouse lol. Why so bad ? High ticket prices ? Not enough parking ? Who knows ? I think despite all that, fans just dont show up to watch the team like they do in England and Germany. A club with Bordeaux's history is used to having great teams in the past and put a bunch of chumps on the pitch and you have what you have. Football = entertainment. Give people a show or get out.

Hard to say, it's too early. They were 16 000 at the same match on last season. I would blame the access issues.

that's the problem that drivs me frigging nuts and one I'm sure we're going to have in lyon, to what extent I can't say yet.

bordeaux built their stadium in a dead zone where no one ever had any reason to go until now so public transport and road capacity were close to absolute zero. then when getting 40,000 people there at H-hour turns out to be a mess that makes the crossing of the berezina look like a stroll in the park, they act all surprised.
