In high school they would double team him off the ball, so he had to play in space, something he has not done at Duke. They'd set him up around the free throw line and he would have this killer spin move, in either direction, which got him right to the hoop for an easy scoring opportunity. If he can work on his mid range shot, this could become his go to move in the NBA.
His HS mixtape was absurd. It reminded me of a less explosive but way more polished Drummond. Jahlil was putting the ball on the court and getting to the hoop on 1v1s so nasty. I saw him Euro Step a guy on a fast break ffs lol. What's crazy is I know exactly which spin move you're talking about, he would split into the paint smooth and finish.
westbrick suspended 1 game. that kills their playoff chance since the pelicans will probably defeat the timberwolves.
I feel like, as much as the Thunder have had injury issues, they should have made the playoffs if Scott Brooks was at all competent.
Lol, what? The teams is without two of their three best players in the Western Conference. Take Kawhi and Parker off the Spurs, or Gasol and Conley off the Grizzlies and they all have a tough time reaching the playoffs. I don't think Brooks is special, but he's a good NBA coach. Saying he's not competent is just ignorant.
Played NBA2k, chose the Lakers, simming my 3rd season, I managed to go 82-0. Somehow got swept in the conference finals though
It seems unlikely, but I'd much rather have the Clippers avoid meeting the Spurs in the second round. I'd rather they go against the Warriors. The Spurs look scary good and while the Warriors do as well, the series against GSW would be far more entertaining. Both are the heavy favourites though. It seems like it'll finish something like this: 1. GSW 2. Spurs 3. Clippers 4. Porltand 5. Memphis 6. Houston 7. Dallas 8. Pelicans
Man, the more I think about it, the more the stars seem to align for a Spurs repeat. They're peaking at exactly the right time and are now perfectly positioned to take the 2nd seed despite underwhelming early. Popovich is a freaking genius; his black magic works its way again.
And also, whatever I said about the Hawks, I take it back. They're too depleted to do real damage, and are limping into the playoffs. Still maintain they're better than Toronto and Washington, though.
Bulls vs. Cavs series will ultimately decide the Eastern Conference representative in the NBA Finals. The way the Bulls are playing right now, that series will be a doozy
To me, the biggest threats to the Spurs probably are GSW and Memphis, with honorable mention to Clippers? I just think the Rockets and OKC are too reliant on one person for scoring to be big threats. As a Spurs fan, any team that has a chance to give the top non-Spurs teams a run for their money is better. Not sure which team matches up better with GSW, but 2nd place would be nice to have.
