Marcelo Gallardo (Monaco player more than a Parisien), current coach of River Plate, raised the Copa SudAmericana trophy last night. Bringing River their first Continental piece of hardware since 94.

    Hi all PSG followers

A question from a follower of the Azzurri. Can you tell me who over the course of their careers at PSG has been the better player. Motta or Verratti?

And that is a comparison based purely on performances to date not potential.

    Thanks

Hi, this is probably one of the easiest questions to answer and the answer is Verratti by far. Not only has he been better than Motta, but he's been out best player this season. Of course Motta is a lot older and definitely not at his peak, but Verratti is the better player in terms of performances to date like you asked (as well as overall). In fact, Verratti has not had a single bad match all season.

Missing Motta due to injury or suspension is a slight inconvenience, but missing Verratti is a nightmare. No player on our team has had as much of an impact as him this season.

To be honest, there really is no comparison. Verratti plays on a different level than the majority of our players and he has been the most consistently excellent one. He's improved in so many different aspects of his game, even the discipline except he gets carded for any little foul just because of his reputation and the club he plays for

Ginola is more than free to join Sarko to raise money for Pogba. All these people who want to see more French players should direct their efforts towards improving the league and convincing the best French players to stay in France and not go abroad. PSG is not the problem, the problem is that all the really talented French players go abroad eventually.

I would welcome the likes of Griezmann, Pogba, Lloris, Benzema, etc with open arms.

Couldn't agree more about Verratti, but I think he sinks his own boat a lot of the time. He's pretty argumentative, and he gets in the ref's face an awful lot. Maybe PSG are not popular in the FA and so on, but Verratti needs to put a muzzle on it (or his captain needs to tell him to shut up).

If you had said this last season, I would have agreed with you. The problem is - he's worked on it and he's cut it out, but the referees are still treating him based on his reputation. Ask any other PSG fans (@NicolasN.) and they will tell you the same thing. There is no player that is more unfairly targeted than him. He gets carded for the smallest little things (not to say all his yellow cards are unwarranted, some are warranted, but a troublesome amount are not) and he always gets carded right away, while the majority of the players around him are not carded on their first offense, just given a verbal warning. Even Laurent Blanc has spoken up about it in the press and it's not even a case of him being a PSG player and we're being protective of our own and blind. Even though there is a significant refereeing problem in France, and PSG are very often wrongly penalized (look no further than the latest card which will keep Pastore out of the CDF FINAL for someone else slapping him and him literally not even retaliating or anything), we get over it at the end of the day and try to hope it will be better next game. With Verratti though, there is never the chance for that.

This is his latest yellow card:

cabaye back to EPL ... such a waste of years .. PSG destroyed him ....

but partly it was also his fault , he should never have left newcastle for a star stranded side like PSG

I really hope Sweden can make it to the Euro for him. It would be such a shame for him to miss out on another big tournament, especially since it's most likely the last one of his career.

Amazing he can speak so well with his tongue so firmly in his cheek. "I can be old and weak and still I can play." ;>)

actually I'm kind of surprised how poor his English is. every Swede I've ever met (plenty, I was our Volvo account manager for years) speaks about ten times better.
