Good choice from PSV. I expect a lot more from Propper than Wijnaldum, Overal I think he is also a bigger talent.
I also think Propper would thrive in the PSV system and anchor that midfield nicely. Additionally Maher and Hendrix will another year more mature next season and will be asked to take on larger roles. A couple of their other '95 born talents like Clint Leemans and Rai Vloet could be introduced into the first team's rotation and provide even more depth. Utrecht's Yassin Ayoub is another player I could see drawing much attention from larger clubs this summer.
Twente received a -3 point penalty for the 2nd time of the season and are on the verge of bankruptcy. Taken meassures now include: no more B2 youth team no more women team Jong Twente quitting Jupiler League entire scouting staff fired numerous firings among the rest of the club no contract extensions for any of the players players will have to be sold in the summer They're practically in as bad a shape as Feyenoord was several years ago. Only Twente does not have a viable youth academy to fall back on. Munsterman screwed them over pretty bad. Wonder how the fans feel about him now.
^^Where is Ms. Neeskens when we really need to know the truth? This is a strange turn of events as Twente only several years ago were expanding their stadium which I believe they own. There must have been some major financial mismanagement going on here.
http://www.nu.nl/voetbal/4027186/commissarissen-twente-halen-hard-munsterman.html The FC Twente supervisory board is hitting back against the actions of Munsterman. Which included many agreements that he made where the rest of the board members did not even know about. Particularly under fire now is the validity over the oral agreement made on the contract extension with coach Alfred Schreuder which runs till 2019. According to the statutes of the club, such a decision and expenditure needs to receive approval first from the board. However, neither the approval or a signed contract was ever completed. http://www.nu.nl/voetbal/4028232/gemeente-enschede-komt-met-plan-steun-fc-twente.html The city of Enschede hopes to form a proposal within a week in order to support the club. The first proposal is well aligned with the leadership of FC Twente however the provision of a new loan at this time is not on the agenda. Previously, Enschede lent out 20 mio for the expansion of the Grolsch Veste stadium.
Ziyech needs to move upto a CHL playing club. Hopefully Ajax or PSV snap him. PSV will probably sell Depay & Wijnaldum and together could get 25-30M. If they buy smart then can be genuinely a very strong team. They could Ziyech cheap like in 6-7M and Propper for another 6-7M. Add a good quality winger @ 15M odd and promote Bergwijn and they are set. For Ajax, I don't see a lot of space in midfield of Klaassen, Singraven, Bazoer with Nouri and Beek ready to step up. Additionally you have Serero & Schone, both of whom do well in midfield. Ajax needs Fire upfront. Unfortunately the quality of wingers in Eredivisie has been rahter poor
You call JP Boetius poor? Did you see how he danced thruogh the PSV defense and provided Achabar with the goal scoring chance. He has been out of form for a few months, but that is something different from being poor in quality. JP is better than Depay technically.
Bilal Ould-Chikh is another top quality rising talent at the wing. Considering Twente's difficult financial situation, they'll likely be forced to sell, and would be a prime addition for any club. Him at RW and Bergwijn at LW for PSV would be incredible to watch in a couple years.
Boetius has been an absolute flop so far. I though Elia had talent too. JP is already 21 and is till not a guaranteed started in the currently very mediocre Eredivisie level. Robben @ 20 was one of the best players in the EPL. That is the level where he will be compared to, where he has to aspire too. I actually had high hopes of Boetius , I think he is better than Depay skilled wise but talent gets you only so far. VDV was massively talented, but i would argue under-achieved. Depay has that mental grit and is improving. He is undoubtedly the best eredivisie player with 25 odd goals and will go to a top European Club while JP can't start for Feyenoord. I still don't rate Depay that high as of yet, I don't think he can come upto Robben's level personally, but I am happy with his progress year on year. It's not about few months, all young players have a small dip atleast. Boetius has not been able to have a stretch of great games on for 5-6 months for like many years now. He would have 1 good game, few average, go to the bench, try to come back in and on & on -> this is a cycle. Let us agree he has flopped for now. I hope he turns it around
Yes you're right. They do need a good quality player for Depay though. I don't think Bergwijn can step up next season. If they play CHL they need a top attacker upfront
Former Ajax youth Branco van den Boomen is drawing much attention after his good season in the Jupiler League with FC Eindhoven. Heerenveen, Groningen, and Vitesse have all shown interest in signing him this summer.
FC Eindhoven is doing really well, I won't be surprised if they make it to the Eredivisie. And there are a couple more interesting players in that team, Joey Sleegers is another one who is noteworthy.
Also be good to have the Eindhoven derby back in the league again after all these years. I wasn't even born yet to watch the most recent edition.
Major financial irregularities. The club is almost bankrupt and will have to sell players this summer to become solvent or risk losing their license to play.
Hundreds of angry FC Twente fans gathered at the club's training complex in Hengelo following their 1-0 loss to Utrecht. They demanded the resignation of coach Schreuder. Who for many, holds close connection to Munsterman's mismanagement especially with the cloudy details over the formation of his contract. Twente hope to recover at least 10-15 mio in transfer revenues this summer. Most notably, Castaignos and Bjelland have been confirmed to be departures. Though they hope to hold onto certain key youngsters like Ould-Chikh and ter Avest to rebuild a sustainable outlook in next few years. Also avoiding to sell too early and missing out on potential higher transfer gains later on. A bit of positive news, Grolsch have signed an extension and confirmed they will continue to sponsor of their stadium.
The city of Enschede has stepped forward with a plan to provide financial assistance to FC Twente. The next repayment that the club owes on the stadium expansion loan is extended until July 2016. This will save them around 1 million in expenses in the upcoming operating year, in which they hope to get back on track fiscally. It is intended that they will only pay interest in that period. Other creditors will also agree to a similar deferral of repayment. CEO Gerald van den Belt says the club is now working with some private investors and banks for further investments. This overall plan hopes to gain approval from the KNVB at the end of April.
FC Twente fans continue to voice their frustration with the on and off field situation at the club. A large group of supporters rioted outside the Grolsch Veste after losing to AZ Alkmaar on the weekend and got into physical confrontations with the police. It is reported that they crowded the entrance and broke into the stadium. Throughout the match, fans also had numerous chants and banners going against coach Schreuder. Despite all of this, Twente's vice chairman Aldo van der Laan states that the club will continue to support the current coaching staff. Studio Voetbal's Arno Vermeulen gives this perspective: "Schreuder is now the victim of Munsterman's actions. Since Munsterman is gone, the anger is now focused on the coach. Munsterman brought Twente on the brink of collapse and poor Schreuder now has to pick up the tab".
Part of me hopes that @johan neeskens is manning the baricades in all this. I wonder what happened to her.
