On Saturday, the Flash repeated as NPSL Southwest Conference tournament winners, moving them on to a one-game playoff against Northwest Conference champion FC Tacoma 253. The game will be played on Sunday, Mar. 22 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle with the winner qualifying for the 2015 US Open Cup.
Elsewhere, CD Aguiluchos and the Sonoma County Sol both advanced to the Golden Gate Conference final where another 2015 Open Cup berth will be determined next week

So are we down to 2 more teams to qualify?

    NPSL
    Saturday, March 21
Sonoma County Sol v. CD Aguiluchos USA

    Sunday, March 22
FC Tacoma 253 v. San Diego Flash

It looks to me like the USASA already has all of their teams but they still have to determine who plays in the Preliminary Round. Is that right? Do we know how they are determining which teams have to play in the Preliminary Round?

According to the ussoccer.com release: "Lone US Club Soccer and USSSA representatives each will face the USASA side geographically closest to it."

USCS is represented by San Francisco FC. The nearest USASA team I believe is Cal FC (Thousand Oaks, CA).
USSSA is represented by Harpo's FC (Boulder, CO). The nearest USASA team I believe is KC Athletics - but they played each other in the USSSA final. Will the be paired again? If not, the nearest would be NTX Rayados (Dallas), no?

BTW: What happened to Mellow Mushroom?! I thought they were taking part in the USSSA qualifying competition!!!

Thanks. I saw that sentence but somehow it didn't stick in my brain.

Yep, Kansas City would be the closest and Dallas would be next.

http://imgur.com/LCLn6gA Map of all 91 participants. Looking at the PNW T2 and S2 will likely play FC Tacoma and Kitsap Puma's. Providing T2 ans S2 progress T2 vs Sounders and S2 vs Timbers?
