Anderson leaves Man United to join Internacional....hopefully this move revives his career http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/31118761
^^^^LMAO BTW Lucas Silva will get some minutes tomorrow against Deportivo for his debut. He was discarded vs La Real, the Sevilla game got tight as he was about to enter so Carlo didn't make any subs, and we got smashed against Atletico so that probably wouldn't have been the best debut. I hope he does well. We desperately need a backup for Kroos so he can rest and we're very thin in midfield. Lucas is the only 1st team midfield sub we have. God forbid anything happens to Isco, Illara, or Kroos tomorrow and he'll be a starter for the next few weeks. I just don't understand how we got to this point.
There may be people who aren't fond of his game, but you can't argue against his form. Deserves a call up.
Coutinho has been a regular under Dunga. Just needs to be looked at as a serious starting option now. Never to Hulk.
As a leftback? Although I haven't been 100% impressed, Dunga will stick with Filipe Luis until the wheels fall and Alex Sandro is a very good LB worthy of one day taking over the LB spot if he continues on improving and hasn't done anything to warrant being dropped. I'll be shocked if Dunga ever picks Marcelo at least in this year.
He scored both goals today against Torino. In form player with 8 goals and 7 assists in his past 11 appearences.
He signed a new contract until 2020 during the week. Celebrated the new contract with a headed goal against Verona in a 2-0 win.
I was going to ask in Lazio's forum but I was wondering can you tell me more about Felipe and his rise? Was he always a starter? Why now? etc. I remember him at Santos but thats really all.
He basically got his chance after Candreva was injured and he's just grown in confidence ever since. He's the most dynamic player in Serie A right now, every time he gets the ball you hold your breath. He's been the spark to bring Lazio to 3rd place and knocking on 2nd place. Lazio have won 6 straight, they're basically undefeated since he's been a starter in December, the only losses were when he was "injured" though it was probably him having to return to Brazil because his father was charged with murder. Here is Lazio's win over Verona on Sunday. Check out more of his highlights, the kid is something special.
Serie A has always done a good job at developing our talent. Ever since its decline, they simply haven't been seeing the sort of talent it used to see. Felipe Anderson is a rare case that managed to slip through the cracks (the fact he didn't play well at Santos contributed to this). Instead of getting players like Cafu, Aldair, Thiago Silva, Ronaldo, etc., Serie A has been receiving the likes of Henrique, Danilo, Willians, Zé Love, etc. No offense to any Serie A fans, but Serie A makes a good stepping stone on your way up through Europe. It's still better than most league and does an exceptional job at developing South American talent.
No offense taken. Serie A clubs don't have the funds to outbid Real, Barca, Chelsea, City, PSG, etc.... The league is still quality, it's a great learning curb for youngsters as it is a very tactical game that requires plenty of discipline, something that many of the South Americans (really most youngsters) lack when coming to Europe. I think a jump to Serie A or a lower La Liga team or Portugal or a top Eastern European side would have been beneficial to some top South American talent that jumped to the big clubs. We see plenty of them grow up quickly like FA, like Dybala, Casmiro, Vazquez, etc... Going back to your original point, the earlier financial troubles in Italy may have set them up better in the future with regards to being more of a developmental league for youngsters. The fact that the league is still fairly deep with even mid tables capable of grinding out results vs the top teams makes it a great spot for youngsters. Now if only Italian youngsters could get more opportunities.....
