Maybe. Yeah, there were a few different VIP-type things going on that could have certainly meant a re-allocation of resources. And...did anyone else see the banner honoring the 2004 Coach of the Year? Sacre Bleu!
Goose Island is made in Chicago and owned by Anheuser-Busch. We now have the beer stand on the lower SW concourse with local/state beers. It sounds like CSC and others weren't on the same page. To be sure, you could always email Dan Lolli (dlolli@columbuscrewsc.com) and maybe he could talk to the necessary personnel....Welcome to the 'fre, where every game is 5/15/99 redux. Backpacks are the stadium policy, and that was last year. I was stopped because my "baby bag" is a backpack, she saw it was made to be a baby bag and let me in. I use my wife's bag now. do they still sell the sinch sack packs? Anybody know if they still serve Guinness?
I noticed no bilingual (Spanish) announcements, or am I not remembering correctly? Also, the live video during the game and replays on the videoboard were shown in like 2/3 format. With only advertisements on the left side. Versus last year (even with the new videoboard) when most of the time the screen was broken down in three sections, with the video just in the middle third, and advertisements to the left and right.
Had my first try of Hot Chicken Takeover. It was really good. I waited till right before halftime because the line was to long before the game. Sadly, they were sold out of the sandwiches so I just got the drum sticks. Really good stuff. I thought the main gate concourse was really packed before kickoff the food lines were long which made walking a pain as you had to cut through the people in line. I guess that is a good thing.
Yeah, as a vegan with a gluten free vegetarian wife, we were both happy with our options. I got a falafel pita from pitabilities, and she got some noodles from the noodle wok place in the NW corner.
Honestly in the past 3 years I spent maybe $40 on food and drink inside the stadium. Always felt like it was just a waste. Last night I spent $22 and plan on trying some of the other new options. Love to see at the end of the season the growth in food and beverage sales from 2014 to 2015
Knowing the new options that were going to be at the stadium I eagerly looked forward to this game - and was not disappointed. The options were plentiful and everything I saw looked very, very good. Enjoyed a HCT sandwich myself and it was gigantic for $10 - well worth the price and just as tasty as their North Market location. Saw several of the stands mentioned by others that looked great as well as the taco/nacho stand which looked fresh and delicious. It was nice to have all the various beer options (draft craft was available around the upper concourse level in addition to the stand) but man, $9 for a small craft beer might just make me keep purchasing the tall boys cans of something other than Budweiser for the same price and double the beer. Anyway, for the first time in - well maybe forever - I'm actually willing to spend some money on the concessions in the stadium without feeling I'm wasting money on an inferior product. Do they offer Crew Bucks (CBJ offers this at a 10/20% discount) to season ticket holders yet? If not they should start this up... PS On our way out we stopped to get my wife a banana pudding from HCT and talked briefly to Joe who's their founder and was taking orders. He was stunned at the support and sales, and flattered at the love shown for HCT by all the fans. He's very excited to be at the stadium...
Love all the food upgrades.... Went to the new local beer stand and half of the taps were not working at least when I went there..first day jitters perhaps... The beer vendors walking around had tall 24oz cans of tacate for 8 bucks..so if you're on a beer budget, this is the beer to get...they also didn't pour them in cups last night, but let us keep the can, I can see that being changed in the future as soon as a few are thrown onto the field after a bad call... Felt good being back in the stadium..
No longer a poster style program, but a small booklet type program.. I did not see any pocket schedules...
Yeah. And all their website is is a place to enter your e-mail address. So I'm going to ask again... What?
I didnt know what it was but I tried it last night. I had to get the drumsticks because they were out of sandwiches (unsure what they are). You had the option or original or spicy. I went with the spicy. Basically it was some sort of spicy dry rub on the drumsticks. I thought they were really good. Served with 2 slices of bread. For $8 I thought it was good value (for stadium food)
Did you just stop at their website? Check out the countless articles on the Dispatch, Columbus Crave, etc to read the whole story of the concept, their origin and how they got to where they are tOSU - it basically really, really good fried chicken that adds a spicy dry rub at your request. A gigantic piece fried chicken between two pieces of white bread with lettuce and some pickles. Well worth the $10 in my mind...
I got the last sandwich (insert really evil laugh). And this mornings 20 mile run was brought to you by Hot Chicken Takeover ( and not in a good way)
Odd works on my end, nevertheless removed from my original post, you can get to the menu from their Facebook page..
Yeah, because we never have any visiting teams with red jerseys where the visiting fans may, uh, wear red shirts...
Thanks! Glad to hear about the programs. The brochure format always annoyed me. Not surprised the pocket schedules aren't in yet. Strike possibility probably delayed the team sending the design to the printer.
