I don't like to bring non-soccer events into these discussions but I have been told that Kenny's relative was the cop who was killed in the recent synagogue attack in Israel. Awful stuff. http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/...ral-of-Druse-police-officer-Zidan-Saif-382259
It's still in development, but it may end up looking something like: 1) American-born and raised by two parents who were American-born and raised 2) Guys who improve the MNT at a position of need 3) Everyone else
Nice finish by Kenny from a nice backheel pass. The defense allowed way too much space inside the box.

Saief is telling Israeli media he prefers a callup by Israel to that of the USMNT. I think we have a textbook case of telling different stories depending on which media he is speaking to.
Saying no to Jürgen Klinsmann might play out differently in practice than in theory for him, if he can score some goals and earn that call.
And a question that could use refinement. Do you mean "good enough to warrant a camp callup at the beginning of a new four-year cycle and, perhaps, the U23 team" or "one of the best strikers we have in the entire program today" or something else?

Scored today. Kenny Saief scored today in Gent's 3-1 win over KV Oostende in Jupiler League action.— Over There (@socceroverthere) January 25, 2015
If he joined our program, he would be the second best striker on our Olympic team after Rubio Rubin. But he seems committed to israel. With the euros expanding to 24 teams, Israel has a shot to make those in 2016.

I think that goal is from the 1:4 cup win over Lokeren on 12/17/14, see 4:32 & post #81 above- The goal from 1/25 vs. KV Oostende is at 1:10-
I wouldn't get my hopes up for him playing for the United States Gent's Kenny Sayef: "My dad asked me to play for Israel NT & not USA NT" right before he died cc: @BrianSciaretta— Raphael Gellar (@Raphael_Gellar) February 27, 2015
Now wait a minute............ Does his Mom not have input??? All kidding aside that's some heavy shit right there. It's hard to go back on a promise made to a dying parent -- or anyone for that matter. If Israel is the route he goes my hat goes off to him. It will be that much more special for Kenny. Placing myself in his shoes, it kinda gives me goose bumps just thinking about standing there in your national team kit, national anthem playing, knowing you fulfilled a promise.
