Well then. It would be a great problem to have another good young right back.

The difference being Götz is legitimately two footed and has played some left back for Hamburg at the youth level.

It would be great to get this kid involved with the U-23's, we could definitely use some more options at left back for the Olympic team.

Really wonder if the USSF is contacting this guy trying to see if they can get him eligible for the USMNT.

Doesn't he have some issues getting a passport?

He first has to find his father who he's never met and doesn't have warm feelings for (my guess).

Well that's a fairly sizable hurdle. How exactly does that work? Does he need to call a passport office and have his farther prove he's his son?

T Boyd managed to do something similar while going through his dad's relatives. I think he also didn't really want to have any contact with his father.

    Original article (in German):

    http://www.mopo.de/hsv/klinsmann-ha...ll-fuer-die-us-boys-ran,5067038,29888620.html

"Ashton is very honored and very interested," said his adviser Björn Gerke. "It is contemplated that he sometimes gets in the near future a picture of everything."

"Ashton is determined to seize this opportunity," says Gerke, "the position of the right-back is vacant in the US team."

There idol could in future duel with Frankfurt Timothy Chandler.

One thing he has to do is provide evidence that his father resided in the US for the requisite 5 years. He'll probably have to provide a DNA test and show that his father was determined as such under German law (since they didn't marry).

The position of RB isn't vacant, but I wouldn't mind him having join the USMNT. To potentially have Yedlin and Goetz as RB's born in '93 would be exciting.

Maybe the USSF has been monitoring this guy for awhile, but it at least seems like Dave Marino-Nachison pretty much found Goetz for the USSF.

That would be nice, but I can't really take credit. All I did was post a Transfermarkt link to BigSoccer before you slowpokes; I wasn't even able to confirm that he was American, as others have.

There are plenty of other things I can take credit for. ;)

He would be a decent pick up for the Olympic team. I don't think he's good enough for full consideration intonthe full team though.
