    Revs vs RSL

Looks like the starting lineup is guys who need gametime, or who Heaps wants to get more info on.

RSL up 1-0 after a 3rd minute PK. didn't see who conceded it.

nice combo between Donnie Smith and Agudelo results in a cross from Smith, looks like Okoli and Diego got in each others way

Why is the feed so crappy (esp. compared to SKC-Rapids game)?

Okoli attempts to hold the ball up, fails, delivers a late hit to a RSL defender. He hasn't looked too great. Smith looks good, Agudelo looks good, #43 (not sure who that is) looks decent.

Yes, probably not a single opening day starter in today's starting XI.

Lost 1-0 but dominated most of the play. Looked pretty good for the most part.

right. the guys I recognize (except for Mansally!) came on in the second half and played against our sort-of- first XI.

Saw a mention that someone on the team (Farrell?) said something about Nguyen coming back from USMNT less than 100% -- anyone have word on what's up with Nguyen?

I expect Juan will be starting by then. Heaps is just not giving him the start before the first kick off

He was referring to the team RSL fielded. The team Heap's started included Shuttleworth, who is probably an opening day starter. Agree about Agudelo though -- likely he'll have tow rk his way in to first xi.

I liked the way we played in the first half with short passes and having most of the possession. I was thinking that we looked really good for a preseason game. Then in the second half Farrell and JoGo started hitting long balls out of the back, sometimes to no one, and I started to wonder; how can this be the same team that played the first half???

Postgame interviews including in Lemieux's report:

With just one training session under his belt, Fagundez sharp in start vs. RSL
Midfielder recently returned from Uruguay U-20 camp

Here is a link the the Revs twitter page. It has all of their tweets about the game. I just looked through it quickly and saw no mention of Caldwell.

Well I stayed with it until sometime in the second half when I fell asleep. It was hard to follow with the poor announcing, semi poor camera work and no names on the jerseys' Couldnt pick out who was who with some exceptions. I hope in the next game we see more of the first 11 playing?

I want to see Lee and Juan on the field at the same time next time out

Tough to follow with the quality (grainy picture, too low a camera angle). Good combination and hold up play in the first half, especially with Agudelo and Diego working together.

Lemieux said that Barnes gave up the PK, although a RSL article credited it to Farrell (?).

We had a ton of possession for most of the game, but seemed to lack precision on the 3 or 4 good chances we had to tie the game (Bunbury, Fagundez, ...).

Some good crossing opportunities, but they seemed lacking in precision - too high, too low.

Interesting that Fagundez played attacking, central mid. That's probably his best position, but also Nguyen's and Rowe's. Heaps solution up to now has been to force Rowe and Fagundez into being wingers. Maybe he's looking at Diego to platoon (to steal a baseball term) with Nguyen in the center.

I like that we could have a fresh, skilled attacker at that position all 90 minutes, but I'd also like to see the two of them on the field at the same time. But, something's got to give and last year's solution pretty much wasted Fagundez, so maybe it's time to give this idea a try.

Holed up at home for another minor snow storm, watching the game. The video quality is soo much better tonight, I have it up on my 60" and it looks ok.

    Starting ineup looks like
    Davies
    Rowe Kobayashi Bunbury
    Dorman Caldwell
    Alston Goncalves Farrell Barnes
    Shuttleworth

Missed the first 20 mins or so, seen Rowe do some good things, also saw Bunbury get a chance in front of goal, I think about 15 yards out, which he put out for a throw in, and saw Farrell get beat and fall over when he came out to pick up a run down the Revs' left side, similar to what we saw a couple of times last year when he was central, and something that concerns me greatly, he really needs to clean that up. There was also another good chance the Revs had which I kind of saw, as I was doing something else

Revs dominating possession, but not really creating many chances. This is an offense that really, really needs Nguyen to function well. Without his inventiveness and skill on the ball, the Revs find themselves short of ideas on offense.

    Cannons repped this.

Agreed, but someone needs to introduce MLS to the concept of instant replay.

Oh great, I just turned the game back on, just in time to see the Rapids get in behind and score.

I see Agudello is on, and no Kobayashi, with Rowe moving to the middle, not sure what other changes there are.

And as I'm about to post this, I see that Diego came in for Daigo, he's playing on the left, and he just scored a nice goal.

I recently bought a laptop with an HDMI port on it, so it was very easy.
