Well what do you know. Benteke stayed and we are picking up right where we left off last year. ;)

Emile Heskey is rumored to be in Philadelphia. The Union are rumored to be in the market for a cheap "name" player. Hmmmmm........

haha that's great. I think Heskey is done as a footballer. He couldn't really cut it in the Australian league and the MLS is a better league in my opinion. Maybe he can do a job for them, but don't they have conor casey? Those two would essentially play the same role.

Actually it turns out he was in Philly "meeting with business partners". And the Union quashed the rumor pretty quickly.

I actually thought Darren Bent would find his way to the MLS. He is still decent as he is showing in the championship. A lot of MLS teams could use a poacher.

I mentioned that as well at one point. He could still be very valuable to a number of MLS or A-League sides.

Rudy and Ayew look like absolute duds.
Amavi, Gana, Richards, Veretout, and Traore look like good pick ups.
llori and Crespo we still haven't seen.

I've never heard of him and it seems he has only ever played in middle eastern leagues.

Going to need a cheat sheet to keep track of all the new players.

Love reading the speculation...seems all the fans want is perfect choices for half the expected price.

Starting to come into clarity...I liked Targett’s comments about playing good football and it suiting his style.

Smith’s style may or may not be great for a recent promotion team but they have a style and they are finding PL caliber players who fit the style.

After years of patchwork teams spanning several managers and styles it will be nice if they put 11 like-capability players out there.

I’m optimistic. Can’t get to Minnesota for their US tuneup but excited to see them on US TV more often.

    I’ll keep talking to myself.

Getting a little concerned over the number of players Smith is signing because they previously played for him.

On the one hand, the prior knowledge may allow him to find value. On the other, he may be too focused on past players and it’s not like he is plucking them all off PL teams. If no other PL team had signed the player that might be for a reason.

Not criticizing, just noting the pre-disposition.

Word this morning that they signed Trezeguet is welcome. They had 2 wingers in the roster plus Green.

They needed a guy and it seems like this one has been impressive of late.

One more strong DCM with enough muscle to handle the PL is needed.

Wow, where are all of the Villans?? This season is going to be exciting. Watkins is the real deal IMO. While I hope Rashica signs, if he doesn’t want to play for Villa then I say forget him.
