Thanks folks - A1 is one of my favorite sauces. Goes good on just about anything - french fries, burgers, steaks (if they're not a high quality steak, plain if it is), etc.

Not happy about the British chocolate import ban. There's a large candy store up here in suburban Cleveland that has a sizable import section and I had been hoping to buy an American and British Dairy Milk bar on the same trip so I could compare the two directly.

    Eh, its no big loss.

For decades, the EU didn't allow English 'chocolate' to be called 'chocolate' outside of England at all. They more or less had to label it as 'vegetable fat milk byproduct' or 'chocolate substitute,' or have it banned, because it contains so much vegie crap, wax, and little cacao. The EU parliament literally had to rewrite their rules on chocolate to accommodate Cadbury.

Incorrect. The European Commission took Italy and Spain to court over their ban on imports becuase of the content of the milk and the vegetable oil. Shock horror, the EU had to rewrite rules to allow the entrance of nations into the EU

I am glad European dietary trends are the main cause of any issue at Crew Stadium.
Problems with seating? Switch to HP sauce. Solved.
Problems with sound? Switch to English chocolate. Solved.

I bet switching to Heineken will make the TV deal issue, disappear.

Heineken is terrible. So it has that in common with the tv deal.

OK, so you seem aware of an ancillary issue following a 30 year legal battle. But I'm referring to the decades before that where, under Directive 73/241/EEC, English 'chocolate' could not be marketed in other EU states.

ah got it. Did not know. It is interesting how detailed the nations would get in their negotiations to join the EU - I mean chocolate! I wonder what else.

Andy Loughnane last night very slightly hinted that we are close to finalizing some sponsorships. When asked if it was stadium naming rights, he got sort of red in the face, grinned and then tried really hard to deflect it.

    Arace today:

"On a related front, Tom Reed of Cleveland.com has reported that Haslam remains interested in holding [Browns] training camp in Columbus, perhaps as soon as 2016. The likeliest landing area is Crew Stadium and its surrounding grounds. On the drawing board is a multi-use facility which, Reed reported, “would benefit the Crew, the Browns and area youth sports teams.” "

Meh - They will just have to go on a road trip. Same as when the horse thing and rock on the range is here.

What surrounding grounds? Are they going to practice in the parking lot?

I can't imgine this will happen. Still, if it did, I'd love to see before and after photos of the Crew Stadium pitch.

Maybe there's still some land left behind Aldi's where the old industrial plant used to be. Or they are going to buy Indianola Middle School and build a pedestrian bridge. ;) There's enough land there to do something useful--at least enough for a team to have a training location. You might be able to convert old classrooms in the school into dorms for this kind of thing. Probably crazy, but it is outside the box.

The Brown's have scouted out their plan for training camp at Crew Stadium with as much due diligence as they run their organization.
