Another big win for Heerenveen, this time 4-1 vs Vitesse. Thern is a nice fit in this team. Displayed some neat skills and formed a great connection between him and Sinkgraven in the midfield. The coordinated passing sequences sustained pressure and build up throughout the entire match. Sinkgraven showed strong vision and awareness again. He's able to effectively navigate around several opponents. Switching between dribble or passing methods while staying in a consistent core location to facilitate. I'm sure Vitesse's Wallace is glad this game is finally over. Larsson and Slagveer kept burning past his side of defense time after time. Those runs along the flanks were such a joy to watch.

Now that he's healthy and reaching top form again, "Samba" Larsson is going to be another one to watch out for.

It's funny how we always find a way to produce top scorers (and lose them :( ). I can only hope, by some measure, that Sinkgraven can be convinced to stay one more year with us. I think that European qualification is a very real possibility this year (should have made it last year :( ) and to have him there would be immense. Especially with most of our young players getting a year older and more experienced. It would really be something nice to watch Heerenveen play in the Europa league.

Heerenveen's resourcefulness in scouting and talent development is impressive. I'd also love to see Sinkgraven stay for another season and continue honing his skills. With the chemistry and momentum building up with this core group of players, Europa League is definitely a reachable goal.

Sometimes Ziyech can fool you into thinking he is already a word class player..

Even with the player movements, Heerenveen always put up a good fight. Resilient effort in the comeback win over Feyenoord. The new additions continue to make a strong impact especially Larsson once again with another huge performance. He now has 3 goals & 3 assists through 4 games after the winter break. Highest combined production of all Eredivisie players in the new 2015 year so far.

Brahim Darri with another goal today, he has 2 goals in 2 games so far, and the first game he was a sub so, pretty good so far for a 20 years old winger.
    Cheers!

Heerenveen win big against another top 4 team in PEC Zwolle. Wonderful skills and goals all around. Samba Sam Larsson was deadly on that crossover move and strike. With this victory we now climb into 6th spot in the standings, ahead of Twente. Next week is the Friese derby versus Cambuur, let's keep this rolling. :)

PSV are champions, 15 points more than Ajax with one extra game left for Ajax...

PSV will probably be champions. But there's still 12 games left to be played and a team's fortunes can change quickly in football. That said, even if PSV starts bleeding points, Ajax would also have to stop bleeding points to get anywhere near them, and that doesn't look likely either at this point

From a league perspective the current standings allow for the clubs to concentrate on their European games. Warshaw and Zenit will be just back or still in winter break and Roma is still in contention for the title.

In addition our clubs are too high on the fair play rankings. We run the risk of receiving an additional Europa league spot next year which we do not want at any cost. We need some serious fouling and misconduct to drop two places on that list. Where are De Jong and Van Bommel when you need them.

excuse me for my ignorance but why would the eredivisie not want to receive an additional europa league spot?

The uefa league coefficient is calculated by deviding the total points gained by the number of participating teams. Most Dutch teams outside of the top 3 have low club coefficients and are unlikely to make the EL groupstages to collect points.

If say one to three teams survive past the winter break their additionally gained points will then be devided by 6 instead of 5 or 4 for rival leagues.

There's an interesting feature in the latest edition of Voetbal International on Samba Sam, Simon Thern-minator, Simon "Dribbling" Tibbling. The three rising top Swedish talents who have moved to the Eredivisie this season. All very technically well-versed players and saw Ibra's development at Ajax as an inspiration. Also just in time for the big North Derby this weekend when Sam and Thern's Heerenveen take on Tibbling's Groningen.

Heerenveen back on track with a big 4-1 win away at Heracles Almelo! The first half was pretty even on both sides. Felt that Heracles was bit unluckly near the half-time whistle when they could have gone ahead but struck the post. We brought a much better strategy in the second half. Larsson was quality once again, with this strong form it's going to be really tough keeping him here this summer. The new signing Namli had a really nice display today. Hope he can keep this momentum going, reminds me a lot of Ziyech. Another notable, Slagveer's 8 goals since January leads the league in scoring for 2015.

Does Depay know the guys in blue are his team mates? His selfishness is getting ridiculous.

If the role model of these kids is never celebrating a goal of his team mates and pulling his shirt out when scoring only the 4th goal from a penalty in a CL final like he secured the win, while a pipe down attitude towards Ramos, Bale and others would have been justified since they prevented a loss and secured the actual win, then we can expect to enter to a new type of selfishness. I like people being truly happy when team members score, like van Ginkel yesterday and I also think it is the only way forward for a team to better than the sum of it's parts. What has the Portuguese NT won with Ron in the team? So even if the player is of exceptional class it does not necessarily pay out for NT .

I am worried by these signs.

I thought Depay was too direct and selfish to be a 10 whenever body wanted him there. I think he is too raw and young. His game will evolve, this attitude works if he is as good a scorer like Ronaldo. Depay wherever he goes has to to learn the hard way. I don't see it as a big deal, he will learn, be in the bench too sometimes in a new team filled by superstars where he was to work his way up and learn the value of Team-Work

Rumor that PSV is targetting Davy Propper as a potential replacement for Wijnaldum who may also be on the move this summer.

Groningen have a special talent in Albert Rusnak. He made a strong impression earlier this season when on loan at Cambuur, and Groningen got him from Man City for a bargain. I think he has a higher ceiling than Filip Kostic from last season and is already drawing must interest from other clubs.

NEC Nijmegen have clinched promotion and will be back in the Eredivisie next season.

Groningen to meet PEC Zwolle in the Cup Final. Rusnak was class once again, great goal and display of skills in win versus Excelsior today. This team has been very well balanced in scoring throughout this tournament. Hans Hateboer is another player who has made nice strides this season.
