Basically it says Matt has flown into Doha and will participate in training as early as Monday. I'm unble to decipher if it's training or a trial which we know, really, are one in the same. It does mention, I think, that this is the first time these two clubs have used their Red Bull connection with each other and says it's due to Marsch and Curtis.

In the transfer rumours section of Transfermarkt someone posted an excerpt from tomorrow's Kicker print edition. Miazga is supposed to arrive in Doha on Monday. RB Leipzig's sporting director Rangnick and Red Bull New York's sporting director Curtis as well as head coach Marsch have agreed on a transfer. However, the transfer will only be realised if Miazga shows well in the next few days. They quote Rangnick: "He will only join us if he can immediately help the team."

Good for Leipzig, getting a foothold in that north Jersey youth market.

This is odd. Not so sure NY RedBull fans will like this. They must have been impressed him at u20 qualification.

This could be a good situation for him if it were to happen. A 2Bund club with ambition and in the country which IMO is the best world wide at development right now.

Plus, NYRB doesn't appear to have a clue where they're going or what they want to be. Going away from DP's and randomly firing Petke tells me there isn't much stability there.

Won't see me complaining about our youth internationals heading to Germany.

Why only if he can help immediately? He's 19. They expect a 19 year old to be a short-term solution?

Also, what's his competition at RB Leipzig looking like in terms of their first team options and the prospects around his age in the youth academy?

Leipzig is not really in the business of nurturing young talent. They want to get to the BL ASAP.

Given that it's all handed down from the same source as Leipzig, I'm not sure that you can make that criticism of one branch of Red Bull soccer and not another.

They think Miazga will help with that? I hope he can, but I think there are probably better options for the short-term.

Maybe - maybe - he's thinking in terns of playing in the Cup and other non -BL2 competitions. That'll help the team by resting the starters.

I hope so. NYRB isn't that good at giving young players playing time, so if he were to go to a club that will give him a chance to break into the starting lineup, that would be great.

NYRB just announced RB2. Sounds like basically the same situation.

I'm not a fan of his talent, and I'm dubious about his potential to be more than a poor man's Omar G...but he played quite well in Jamaica. I've changed my mind about somewhat. Maybe this could work for him.

Speaking of RBNY youths, whatever happened to the left footed mighty mite that Backe liked so much? I cant remember his name off teh top of my head. I don't recall seeing him under Petke.

Connor Lade? Still on the roster; spent some time on loan with the Cosmos last season. (But was he really a lefty? I thought he was a rightly who was playing LB. Could be wrong.)

He's like Omar Gonzalez in more ways than I thought. Thought it was just playing style, but now its also getting unlucky with getting injured on the first day of an opportunity to play in Europe.

So is this deal still happening? Is it a minor injury or major injury?
