Can't remember if this nonsense had been posted on the previous thread or not ..... I've read a few different stories about this, but it seems like it's easy enough to use drawn profiles of people who don't actually exist to do your target-shooting with. And cops wonder why many black dudes think they're seen as targets instead of human beings.

Eric Holder just did something that, if it really actually means anything going forward, will stop a major abuse of police power that's gone berserk lately - though I'm sure they'll find ways around it.

This abuse was going on for years and a lot of people knew about it. The Post runs a series of articles further exposing the practice, and suddenly something is being done. They should win some sort of journalism award for this.

This belongs in the Obama Failure thread, doesn't it? His administration is taking away an important revenue stream for local governments!

Does anyone wonder why cops are so reviled? If they really want to use pics of real people maybe they should use pictures of each others wives. If they dont have pictures of each others wives I wonder if they would like to buy some.

"While North Miami Beach Police Chief J. Scott Dennis admits that the snipers could have used better judgment, he doesn't believe that the use of an all-African-American photo lineup for target practice is racial profiling, and added that his sniper team has minority officers. Dennis also told the news station, "Pictures are vital for facial-recognition drills.""

#1, did he really use the "Yeah, but some of my best friends are black" defense?

#2, is he suggesting that anybody who's ever been arrested should therefore be actively recognized by the police for that fact? Is that a real thing, using mugshots for facial recognition drills?

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-yorkers-dont-approve-of-nypd-turning-back-on-mayor-poll-finds/

police officers turning their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio at the funerals of two officers shot to death in their patrol car, or of the comment by a union leader that the mayor had "blood on his hands," according to a poll released Thursday.

The Quinnipiac University poll found that 69 percent disapproved of the silent protest among police at the funerals of officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu and 77 percent considered union leader Patrick Lynch's comment "too extreme."

The poll comes amid a rancorous time between police and the mayor that ramped up during protests over a Dec. 3 grand jury decision not to indict a police officer in the apparent chokehold death of Eric Garner and hit a fever pitch in the weeks since the officers were shot dead Dec. 20 by a mentally disturbed man who vowed online to kill two "pigs."

This would have fit on the old thread, since DiBlasio was getting beat up on this in some places, though not among his constuents, apperently.

Of course, NYC isn't hating the police, either... At least among most of those polled..

Among the poll results, 77 percent said relations between de Blasio and the police are "generally bad." Of those, 45 percent said de Blasio is to blame, while 43 percent blame police. Overall, 56 percent of New Yorkers approved of the way police are doing their jobs and about half approved of how de Blasio is handling crime. Fifty-six percent approved of the job Police Commissioner William Bratton was doing, up from his previous rating.

I think the only reason the chief hasn't been arrested yet is that the authorities are worried about Al Sharpton showing up.

Stunning, but if he indeed didn't make the call that's seemingly the right decision.

I don't disagree, but there appears to be a bit of a gap in how black citizens are treated by the police compared to white citizens in our country.

They're not. But, there are always quarters of idiots, such as this forum.
The classic NYPD 'MUGSY' target is one of their sergeants:

Why not send them a photo of yourself? They might enlarge it into a target, or perhaps find another use:

FYP. I mean, that's what you're saying, isn't it? As long as blacks are killing blacks, don't worry about the occasional black that gets killed by police?
