There's always hope that the collective bargaining talks will lead to some sort of work stoppage.

On field turf though. That might be the reason why i don't see him going to portland

Now THIS is what I'm talking about! We've got ourselves a REAL offseason happening!

What's next? Freddy Adu back to rsl? Bruce arena getting sacked by the galaxy? Landon Donovan pulling a Brett Favre?

    Keep the crazy comin, MLS!

This would be, for me, the most exciting signing so far.

Also, Twellman once again breaking big news. This guy has been on fire over the last couple years.

Hopefully he scores more than Lampard during the first half of the MLS season.

I think it is hilarious that the more JK stomps his feet and runs his mouth to the press about all his players should be playing in Europe the more move to MLS.
    Dempsey
    Bradley
    Jones

    Rumored to be in talks
    Diskerud
    Altidore

I think I am missing some others.

Missing Kljestan. Spector is a possibility as well (his contract is up in June).

I did not know that. Though, I'm not sure if he what he did was playing ;) To be honest, I did not really pay attention to him until the later part of this past season.

Perhaps I should adjust my statement to apply to Hawaiian-born U.S. National team players. Though, I expect I'm wrong in that as well.

Yes, but something tells me Sasha doesn't give a damn about where Jurgen wants him to play.

Jozy and Sacha would help soften the blow from the Petke firing, for sure. Come on boys!

I forgot to comment on this. Wood must be over the moon. These moves all but solidify him being the starter for the next 3 years because he is testing himself at the highest level. Mind you he isn't playing and he is only in the second division, but JK doesn't care for any of that.

Paulson did a Facebook Q&A the other day. Really good read.

    The relevant part:

Christian Joseph - What is the plan for grass?

MP: A year ago I would have said there was a good chance we would be grass by 2016…now I am not so sure. I won’t get into all the factors but it’s something we will always look at.

In the meantime we take a lot of pride in our unique, soccer-specific artificial field which gets limited use…by far best in league and one of best in world. Ask Thierry Henry! ;)

Here's my half-assed theory. Not to say I'm excited about it.

TFC gets Altidore to team up w/ Bradley.

TFC trades Gilberto for OCSC's first round draft pick (Cyle Larin, canadian national). TFC ends up with Larin. OCSC gets a Brazilian fwd to market/promote in Brazil.

Again not excited about it (as an OCSC supporter) but I keep suspecting it.

you might not be too far off. TFC is in for Altidore, and some rumours say Gilberto may be leaving TFC

Twellman was badly underestimated as a player, and he has been badly underestimated as a soccer journalist. His commentary is correctly estimated as 'average', but he is a sharp guy and has a hunter's instinct for his quarry.

kinda sounds retarded enough for TFC to do. I mean, TFC specializes in buying players for millions of bucks and basically giving them away for cheap. (Gilberto supposedly cost around 3 mil in transfer fees)

You got a (better) list of other similarly sized/capable/experienced/aged/marketable players who are interested in joining MLS right now?

MLS the league and its teams will always take "the best" that they can reasonably get within the global marketplace of players. And the league, like any league really, will "overpay" for the highest of earners among the domestic crop of players.

I mean I guess Emmanuel Adebayor is available as a significantly more expensive and older player and probably not nearly as marketable asset for MLS. And my guess is he'll go to Turkey (and then maybe to the MLS, aka the JJ route).
