Gignac was paid way too much these past 4 years and you can't extend him for three years at the same price, it's whether he'll accept a short deal or not. Ayew is not that good.

the biggest problem imo is that all those key players will leave just for free.. it will be very hard to replace them and especially when you won't get money at all from other clubs.

Hi, does anyone know when the dates and kick off times for the matchday 21 (January 17) ?

The Marseille website says Saturday at 5pm, but does say it can be subject to change.

Bielsa benches Payet for disciplinary reasons to show him he is not indespensable to the team and they win without him. Payet has been humbled and learns a valuable lesson. Bielsa is boss.

Btw Giganc only has 2 goals in his last 10 games I think so yeah he is a fraud and doesnt deserve an extension IMO.

Yet we still lead the league. No need to make up issues.

Payet could go south but hopefully with that benching it brought his ego down a bit.

It wasn't a matter of ego. He told Bielsa he was tired during a training session and was sent home earlier than expected. I was there when it happened, nothing special occured.

If you live in Marseille you should put in your location so everyone knows. You could give us some valuable insight like guignol does with Lyon.

    Well, that sucked.

We're out of both cups now, no? This means there is really no excuse not to win the league, as it is the only competition we're playing in now.

Of course, nothing happened, he was so tired that Bielsa didn't pick him up for the game against Lille too.

It's cool. Your common sense was tired and asked your brain for a rest. It's not a matter of ego.

Bielsa didn't like the fact he was tired, thus sent him to vacations early, happy ? You want to turn it into something confrontational but it wasn't. Next game, Payet was back.

You are aware that it makes sense for a sanction to last a certain amount of time ? His sanction was to be send on vacation earlier so it's normal to see him back when the "winter break" is over.

It makes also sense to not take a player if you don't feel like he's "in it". Doesn't mean it's a hard sanction, there was absolutely no bad blood between those two. I don't understand the trauma.

Loss to Nice. I think the wheels are starting to come off. Monaco plays a more defensive less taxing style with a deeper roster and it would not be shocking if they finish top 3 and Marseille fall out of top 3. Blame ownership for not having the money to improve the team this winter.

i feeling marseille has reached its limit in terms of how far it can go in the league .. iff they want to go further they need massive investment
