There are several good players with perspective for Bundesligaa team. They second in the table 2 points behind Cologne who dont play weekdays Youth League.
Schalke U19 win 5-1 over PSV Eindhoven U19. Goals by: Bodenröder, Schley, Darwish, Sane, Schröter Really well taken goal by Leroy Sane, beating the defender on a 1-on-1 dribble in the build up. Daniel Koseler also made his return from injury, a RB prospect that was important in last season's division winning campaign. Felix Platte signs his first professional contract with the team til 2017.
Very strong performance by Schalke U19 winning 2-0 over Chelsea. Maurice Multhaup scores a brace, and now has 4 goals & 4 assist thru 5 games. Certainly one of the top players in this tournament. Lohmar and Köhler were also great. This victory gives Schalke 12 points and clinches promotion to the next round of UEFA Youth League. Well done lads!
Schalke U19 advance to the DFB Junior Club Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 win over FC Köln U19. Multhaup and Sane had several nice link play sequences including the one setting up Platte on the first goal. Sane was incredible this match always dangerous on the ball though unlucky hitting the post twice. Jannik Stoffels sealed the victory with an additional goal in the 90th min.
Cool stuff. After a slow start, this team is really rolling. Of course with the current senior injury list, I'm guessing Sane and a few others will have to travel with the first team this weekend.
Goal highlights: http://tv.dfb.de/video/dfb-junioren-vereinspokal-highlights-der-viertelfinale/10048/ Superb movement on the first goal. Great work rate by Multhaup advancing up field and delivers a sharp thru ball to Sane emerging on the wing. Sane then finds Platte cutting into the centre with plenty of space for the finish.
Final match day of the UEFA Youth League group stage. Schalke U19 win 5-1 playing away at Maribor. Two quick goals in succession by Schröter and Coric just before HT. Rewarding way to finish the opening frame, with nice chances created earlier including one that hit the post. Schalke came firing right away in the second half, Coric scored a great goal from distance minutes after play resumed. Schröter converted his second as well, nice feint move to deke out the keeper. Boyamba displaying some clever play making skills. Reese then had a shot that hit the crossbar. Platte closed it with the 5th goal. With this victory Schalke advances to the next round with 15 points and +12 GD.
Coach Elgert also rotated the roster and rested main starters like Sane and Multhaup. This team has great depth.
http://mercedes-benz-junior-cup.de/en/teams/u19-professional-teams.html Hendrik Lohmar was a huge standout in the Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup. He finished with 6 goals during the 2 day tournament, including a hat-trick in the third place match victory vs Grasshopper Club Zürich. Overall, a good result especially considering many top prospects in this age group were called up to the pros. Sane, Multhaup, Platte, Kehrer, and Wellenreuther are invited for the winter training camp.

Manchester City U19 : FC Schalke U19 1:1 (3:1 pen) Out of Europe this time, but one of the best teams in Europe. ManCity with 1:0 lead in the first half, and a late equalizer by Schalke in the second. Them they missed three (!) penalties.
Congrats to Schalke U19 on winning their 4th consecutive A-Jgd West Title. They clinched the division again with a 6-0 victory versus Duisburg on the weekend. Coach Elgert continues to do a tremendous job guiding these youngsters at this stage of their development. Schalke's class of '96ers is something special, considering how they accomplished all this without Donis Avdijaj (with the reserves and then on loan) and Leroy Sane (with the pros) for most of the season. Very complete and balanced team effort overall this campaign.
