Nice to be back training with the boys today after a month out. Hopefully it's the end of this hamstring problem 🙌— Lynden Gooch (@LyndenGooch) October 13, 2014 Glad the hamstring didn't turn out to be disastrous.
Gooch started for Sunderland U21 against Southampton today but came off after 30 minutes. Hopefully he's okay.
I'm assuming they had the other team down 20-0 and they didn't want to risk injury to their star player or have him run up the score even more with his sick sk1llz.

Just reading that and seeing some of his games with the U.S. U20's and some other SAFC highlights, he has an absolute cannon of a right foot.
Is it just me or does it seem like Gooch hits the post more often than the back of the net. Didn't he hit the post 2 or 3 times in a game against Australia during the summer?
Easier to turn hitting the post into hitting the net, than turning hitting the upper deck into hitting the net like many US players in the past, or worse, not taking shots at all haha. He seems like an extremely solid player/prospect...and I mean solid in a good way, not as a slight.
The Gateshead site illustrates the news with a nice USA photo that's currently leading their homepage: http://www.gateshead-fc.com/5324/sunderland-starlet-joins-on-loan
