According to Seltzer, who made numerous mistakes in his article. Parker never declined a call- up. Check the last posts on the Gedion Zelalem thread.
I'm concern too. I think the better one is Devante, he is not the fastest one of the two but he seems to play with more purpose/deliberation.
For a long time it looked like the younger DeGuzman had made a bad choice in picking the Netherlands over Canada. He really didn't start playing for the senior national team until about a year or so ago despite being committed to them for about 7 years. This stuff is such a crapshoot. For all we know Teal Bunbury may be a starter for the USMNT in Russia in 2018. The more the merrier I say!
Ya players fluctuate in development all the time usually unpredictable how much they'll improve or regress. The more good qualities a player has the higher chance they'll be good. Bunbury on the wing is intriguing he might have better tools there to contribute on the national team.
Went 90 for the second team yesterday. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...dynamo-dresden-65_1-fsv-mainz-05-ii-4387.html
Right. They had a game on September 5 & 9, with the actual call-up coming in August. And there was a German article at the time that said Parker and another player turned down this call-up, I am trying to find it again. It did not give a reason, but I assumed he was preferring to focus on the depth chart fight at his new club.
I can't find anything in the German press at all and Smithfan knows extremely much about German youth football, so I trust his/her opinion on it. Parker was called up in August 2013, together with Geis, and both then had to decline the call up because of injuries. Perhaps that is what you are thinking off?
Another start for the Reserve team today. Went 86 minutes. He got a '4' from Kicker for the weekend reserve game.
It's not a good grade (1 best 5 worst) but kicker grades aren't very accurate, especially in the 3rd division. He has a 2, 3, and 4 grades for his 3 games in 3. Liga.
Anything is possible, because I could not find the article I read. I am fairly sure it was last month, not last year on the dateline, and I do not recall Geis as being the other player. But maybe I just remembered wrong. It happens.
Assists in consecutive reserve (3.Liga) games on 9/19 vs. Dynamo Dresden and 9/23 vs. Preussen Muenster.
Makes sense for him. He can always switch over to the US if thats what he wants. Zelalem wouldn't have been able to switch over to the US had he accepted the call up to the German U-17 team for the Euro U-17 qualification.
Don't forget that Fabian Johnson won the 2009 UEFA U-21 championship with a German team featuring Neuer, Boateng, Hummels, Oezil, Hoewedes, Schmelzer, Khedira, etc. And of course he now plays for us.
Came on as a sub at halftime and scored the lone goal for Germany's u19 team as they took a 5-1 beating at the hands of Austria.
Embarrassing result. That was the final game of the first qualifying round for the U19 Euro next summer. The team was already through to the next round (the elite round) by winning the first two games of this mini tournament in Latvia. Looks like they couldn't care less anymore. Hope the coach has some serious words with these players.
Yes, the one-time switch is required when a player, who holds more than one citizenship, plays in an official competitive youth match and then wants to switch to his other nationality. Only playing in youth or NT friendlies does not require a one time switch. Both Aron Johannsson and Fabian Johnson, for example, played competitive UEFA youth matches and had to file the switch to the US.
